The family and I will be heading to Table Rock State Park, SC at the end of March. For nearly the same price as NC state parks the sites come with water and electric :) Looks to be a fun little get away.

Any thoughts?

Sounds lovely. Sean, do you know what the temperatures are expected to be that time of year? Would a Camplite need to be winterized?

It looks to be in the upper 60's for highs and 40's for the lows. To me thats perfect camping weather :)

As of right now we are planning on heading down there for the 27th and leaving on the 29th.

Table Rock sounds nice, what's the going rate there, if I might ask?

right about 22 per night if i recall...i dont have it up in front of me at the moment.
its a steal for a site with water/electric (no sewer) hook ups

We spent a few days at Table Rock in October 2013. The campground was probably only half full. It was chilly at night, very pleasant during the day. Campsites are gravel, some are more level than others, but they are perfectly adequate. Hiking was very enjoyable and especially interesting from geologic point of view. A lot of it, however, is very strenuous--especially the hike to the top of Table Mountain. Carrick Creek Nature Trail is pretty easy, but still very interesting. In any case, we really enjoyed it and will certainly go back (it's only about an hour's drive from Asheville).

Wow that is really close to me.... and I have a case of cabin fever.  This could be my 1st camp of the 2015 season.

Table Rock looks incredible!  Count us in....that is, if we survive this Valentine's weekend first ever 'shake-down' cruise in our new LL!  Here in Florida, this weekend is supposed to be the coldest temps yet this winter....we're gonna freeze our chocks off, I fear.

Thanks, exploringcarolina, for posting these pictures and resurrecting Sean's great idea!  Shovelhead, don't forget to bring 'Frenchie'!

Rt. 11 is a very scenic road. Photos taken today were all at Table Rock SP except for the waterfall shot on Rt. 11, Wildcat Branch Falls. They have other falls we did not see in the Table Rock area today. I need a better camera with manual mode & tripod to do justice to waterfalls shots.

Wildcat Branch Falls;
