Ask the factory / 11FK hitch weight

The dry weights and hitch weights posted on the livinlite web site are accurate.  They have been averaging them.  Each one is weighed as they come off the line.

Ask the factory / Tire size changes on Camplites
This is Paul from Livin Lite. Could you provide a vin# for your unit because it really depends upon when it was built. Some 2016's were made to accommodate 15" tires and some were not. Just let me know your vin via private message and I will check it out.
Our new to us 2006 Quicksilver 10.0 has hydraulic surge brakes on it currently and i'm not certain that they function properly. I've had it on a couple trips and could not tell for sure. I'm having the trailer serviced by a local trailer and hitch company with a great reputation in a couple weeks and a couple options are on the table. First option and most economical is that the surge actuator is fine and working properly and they just have to service the brakes, Second option is that the actuator is fine but the system needs bled and recharged, Third option is that the surge system is not working and replace the brakes with electric brake assemblies add the battery switch (it already has a battery).

I'm a little tossed on this subject. Given that i'm new to towing i'm hoping that I don't have to go to electric and the surge will be fine. Livin'Lite still installs the same surge brake system on the new Quicksilver trailers (Tie-Down Engineering) as they did in 2006, so hopefully they know what they are doing and the unit is fine with surge brakes. I've heard they work fine, but its worth getting them inspected every season to ensure they are working properly.

Basically the trailer service company does a full inspection and grease of the bearings and checks lights and brakes for under $70 and then tells you what the trailer needs. I dont know anyone else on here with either a Quicksilver with surge brakes or one with electric brakes. Most on here just tow them without brakes

Just to let you know in order to go to Electric brakes that would be going to a different axle.  Thats why this is done at the factory and not the after market.  It might not be feasible to change out the axles.

Camplite Travel Trailers / Wood Cabinet Doors

Thanks for the answer from LivinLite.  I'm glad to see the increased participation.

I am concerned about the use of wood in the trailers.  The lack of any wood is really one of the big factors that had me purchase my 21BHS and, in spite of several quality issues, still makes me happy that I did.  I still recommend the Camplite trailers to people, and often feel like a Camplite salesman on the Good Sams forums.

Are there plans to move away from other unique characteristics of the Camplites; such as aluminum roof, aluminum floor, azdel walls, the windows etc?  Remember, those of us who purchased from Livinlite were willing to pay a significant premium for a reason.  I hope that remains.

Thanks,

Doug
Doug,
We would like to thank you for continued support on this forum as well as others.  We do not have plans do move away from the Livin Lite's unique charactistic of all aluminum construction.  We appreciate the feedback we receive from our customers.  After listening to many of our customers we decided to add decroative wood cabinet fronts to our existing all aluminum cabinet frames in our Camplight Trailers.  That being said, the Livin Lite product line is still going to maintain their core beliefs of all aluminum framed construction, which means the continued use of aluminum floors, roof and the placement of Azdel on the interior walls.

Thanks,
Paul

The elctric brakes are an option.  If you can't get the info from the dealer in regards to whether it has electric brakes or not you can e-mail back to me with the vin# and I can check the original order.  Also, when the electric brake option is chosen it comes with the 7pin plug.

The Quciksilver 10 and the Coleman 10 are the same product both made by livin Lite.  The Coleman will have the Coleman baging, the only difference, and is licensed to be carried by Camping World stores throughout the US.

QuickSilver General Q & A / Coleman-TowMini-Quicksilver?
February 10, 2015, 03:34:05 PM
The QS and the Coleman Automotive tent campers are made by Livin Lite and are the same product.  The Coleman brand is just marketed to Camping World stores in the US.  The Jeep brand is trail tested by JEEP and is price according to using the JEEP brand name.  The Jeep Extreme Trail Edition will have the large off road tires.  Hope this helps.
