Sent Livin Lite a message on their contact page asking for their continued support of this forum . I am sure that I would have never discovered Camp Lite if it were not for this forum . Also thank you all for the great source of information and technical support offered here.

We are running with the stock TRD Offroad hitch , the truck has the Toyota towing package , no add-ons at all . I drive 60 to 65 on the interstate highways and the only noticable wind problems from trucks is from car carrier semis,  I dont know how the turbulence can be so different from them but it is , It is just much more noticable from them. Personally I would not care to repeat our trip with a 21' trailer on our Tacoma without the added supercharger.

We completed 5000 miles through 14 states in August with our 16Db Tacoma TRD combo . Would have loved to have had Charlie's TRD supercharger for the hills. This combo towed great with stock hitch and light packing . But it is slow on the western mountain passes ,while I never felt that we wouldn't make it up it would be nice to have more HP / Torque . I am looking forward to next years promised release of the new Nissan Frontier with Cummins diesel.  Btw down hill and stopping were no problem at all .

Trip Planning / How Long Do You Like to Drive?
September 10, 2015, 06:45:23 PM
We just finished a 5000 mile trip thru 14 different states and 500 miles is about my limit in a day . 300 miles is the preferred daily trip .

We ordered our2015 DB16 with the off-road package 14 inch aluminum wheels and BF Goodrich TA  off road tires .I believe the Dexter axels have a higher weight rating than the standard setup .

This is our current solution   http://www.campingworld.com/shopping/item/large-step-stool/69516  only 15 buckos , not fancy but it works . It also looks like they have the standard step mounted low so the framework of the step clears the trailer frame without modifications...  looks like if the step sides were notched out at the top back a spacer could be added to the welded brackets to raise the step by as much as 2" .

[p]I  just noticed there is a manufacturers sticker on our 16db step , it says Flexco Products , Elkhart Indiana . And when I looked up there site I found our single step also they make a double step in the same size (20" )[/p][p]

Camplite General Q & A / Water Heater Question
May 16, 2015, 05:10:45 PM
[p] [span]    [/span]Here is a picture , 1000 word type , to show the three wires run under the bed . The long one was hooked up by LL and has no power , the left one is also unpowered . The middle one was unused but is powered by the 15 amp breaker it shows on the power center to be the w/h  . I rewired the water heater using the correct wire and now all is well , took 10 minutes for the water to get warm . Any idea why they run the extra wires ? This is the second thing I have found to be mis-wired on our trailer , the other was the 12 volt charging station which was hooked up to dead wires .I also rewired it after speaking to our dealer. We love our Camplite so much I am not bothered by these small things . What a great camper ![/p][p][span]    [/span]Len [/p][p]

Camplite General Q & A / Water Heater Question
May 16, 2015, 09:15:35 AM
[p]  [span]    [/span]We have the gas/electric water heater in our 16DB , the gas comes on and heats as it should with the switch with the separate light  . The AC element did not heat and after testing with a volt meter I found has no power to it from the second lighted electrical switch . Under the bed where the water heater is mounted there is a plastic conduit coming through the floor that has three separate electrical supply lines inside. One of the three is wired into the metal junction box on the side of the water heater and has no power on it , the other two are not connected and have wire nuts on all the wire ends. When I tested the unused wires to find out if they were hot ,  I found that one has no power and the other is live and is swiched by the water heater wall switch . Seems like LL hooked up the wrong wire ? It is wired on the 30 amp breaker in the power center , my question is if you have the ac element in your water heater is it wired on the 30 amp breaker or one of the 15 amp breakers ?  If I change  the extra switched wire over to the water heater element would  it overload the 30 amp breaker ( I am guessing the ac is on the 30 amp circuit as well ) ? [/p][p]   [span]    [/span][span]    [/span] [/p][p][span]    [/span] Thanks in advance ! [/p][p][span]    [/span][span]    [/span]Len[/p]

QuickSilver Mods / Upgrades / Battery Shut-Off

Is it ok to keep the trailer on a shore line at home ?

We ordered ours with the two person dinette which we really like , the top drops down on the seats and it makes a couch . Looking for a bolster cushion to use as a back for the couch and bed . Don't think the table top will last long tho .

Camplite General Q & A / GVW / VIN Sticker
March 30, 2015, 08:41:04 PM
I really only asked because I was interested in the weight of the finished trailer .I intend to carry as little weight as possible when we travel so our payload amount will be way above what we will load up.

Camplite General Q & A / GVW / VIN Sticker
March 28, 2015, 04:33:05 PM
[p][span]    [/span]We have a 16DB with the off road package , the tire sticker is I believe the wrong one for this trailer as it lists 13" wheel and tire sizes when we have 14" wheels and tires . The tire sticker says: max cargo is 3250 lbs. , vin sticker says gvwr (6000 LB). Again both list 13" tire /wheel size incorrectly ? The tires on this trailer say : BF Goodrich Baja Champion LT 195/75R14/99/96R   M+S Load Range D.  Guess I should pull it to work and weigh it next street over on the rock quarry scales  ;)[/p][p]
[/p][p][span]    [/span]On a side note , I just have checked the wheel nut torque on the trailer , we drove less than 95 miles home from the dealer without stopping to check torque .If you have not yet checked them please do. We had several that took a full turn to tighten and almost all were loose a bit. The new torque wrench was money well spent.
