QuickSilver General Q & A / Pop Up Gizmo for QS 10
December 02, 2016, 11:50:48 PM
I wonder the same.. but if you want, I can measure mine in the afternoon - or so, as its out of the camper due to a small tear that I m repairing, only if its not raining tmrw to measure.

one end tore a little the binding got disconnected from the sheet. its a rather simple repair, I think the sewing was a little too close to the edge.

i love mine, but its a pain to put on alone, you MUST have another person to assist :) (10.0 here) only issue I have is the bungee cords, I've lost the end pieces twice and you need to put some d-rings on specific areas so you can hold it down.

I just purchased these a month ago, will see if I can take off the old zipper (the zipper broke on one side, no spot to put a replacement item like bjugrad79 posted

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B009MRFPKM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o05_s03?ie=UTF8&psc=1

instructions (the package had crappy ones) I've printed this out and placed in the QS10, as the only time I can actually open it is usually at the campsites.

QuickSilver Mods / Upgrades / QS 10.0 Rear Kitchen Mod
August 11, 2016, 02:18:32 PM
@bjugrad79 , I'd say anything is possible with enough effort. Yet I can see why the factory would just say no to that kind of mod. If they do the modification then they are responsible for it. If some some reason that frame extension fails and the box comes off I can see why the factory wouldn't want that liability on them.
I agree with that assessment.

now without talking to the wife - I m actually thinking about this - but I see its a 22x22 size  I think i could get away with a little smaller at 16 to 18inches due to the fact it could replace my camp kitchen that I use and I haul in and out at every camping trip.

only issue is using the awning along with the screen tent on that side, and thinking how it would work. but the benefits of having a little more storage room, and a place to put sheets, and other things that are loaded at camp time outweighs the benefits of the awning screen room, considering how often I put the walls up.

where you located ?
Selling a 10.0 (8.0 and 14XLP) screen room for $150 plus shipping- no poles, no leads (currently retailing new...and with poles...for $700 ish).

We purchased our 10.0 from friends who were moving out of state. They told us they lost the screen room, so we got rid of the poles and leads and bought an awning (frankly, didn't want to spend the money on the screen room). Low and behold as they got down to the end of packing up to move, they found it. We have an awning we are happy with and don't want to purchase additional poles and leads, so our loss, then gain, then loss if your gain!

Includes "privacy panels" that zip into the screen room and a carrying bag for the room and panels. Looked online and it looks like the same version fits an 8.0 and a 14XLP. There is some staining on the top- looks like blue ink- but otherwise it is in great working condition. The people we bought from never used it- stain must have come from storage.

Email me at jess.glassburn@gmail.com with serious inquiries. Spoke with our dealer and the poles can be purchased separately. Didn't get a price.
sorry been a few weeks since I've updated.

I got 3 kids, AAU Basketball, Track and Swim Team takes most of my weekends and time

this afternoon - I got home early due to a broken AC unit - just a capacitor  whew. so not too much money to be paid out - which gave me time to pull the trailer out and put bikes and all those stuff on it.
here what it looks like...

4 out of 5 mounted up, my son wanted to ride his bike, his bike will be located right next to the thule carrier I picked up from craigslist for 50 bucks.

What is left, is a Kayak carrier on the end, should en more than enough room, will order one shortly.

The rack is able to be slide back more or so if I want the weight in the back or more closer to front, depending on weight of the kayak and the grill I m putting up there (a small portable one)

That is a HUGE price difference when I asked about 1 year ago.

Jack Filley quoted me 661.40 for a replacement - I should have jumped on it I guess - i have a bad section - occurred via vandalism or something - maybe I should just contact insurance and get that settled with deductible as that may be cheaper.

The awing was more, which was surprising at 664.63 (but again, poles, string, stakes, top portion, zippers, sides, screen, privacy curtains and all that.. I can imagine that adding up quickly, and when you don't sell/make many of one, prices usually are higher than a mass produced tent.

does it have to be working ?  *grin*  get a hotplate, permanently install it. cut off the cord.

or leave cord =- just never plug it in. - I would do something like this

http://www.rockler.com/rev-a-shelf-heavy-duty-mixer-lift

but again this is heavy duty, strong and its for my kitchen aid mixer at home, but something you could do, like hot plate on the shelf, and just store it away all the time - but issue is maybe the space for this wouldn't work.

would a dedicated hot plate cooking item that lives in the camper 100 percent of the time qualify ?

Well this what I have so far..  Need to do other side.

but..  it can be down flat, or up a few inches (I might put 1.5 inch spacers on bottom of these bars)
more forward, more backwards or smaller, or larger. depending what I need

now whats left is 2nd side, and some bike racks, etc to be placed on.

upon arriving local camp sites (where we usually bring bikes) we take bikes off, then loosen that side and remove the top put it aside.
Then do the usual opening and setup.

well.. its a work in progress, and I can easily bring along the bikes, a basket or car carrier on top also.

I use something similar, but I want to bring the quicksilver - and not use those double hitch thing..  Also will be putting a basket there so I can bring along my smoker bbq to some camping trips.

Cant wait for the aluminum to arrive... FYI I'm using 80/20 Extruded Aluminum.
