We were informed that our 21 BHS has been produced and on its way to Rockford IL. It was ordered the second week of January. We are trying to get it picked up by Monday or Tuesday next week! I will let everyone know how this goes; we ordered with larger tongue/2 5/16 ball. Dealer is to install two 6 volt batteries versus one 12 volt. Dealer tells us they really go over all TT's very carefully delivered to customers as there is usually something wrong with all of them. Keeping our fingers crossed there are no major issues! MonteD

We will be very interested in how LL mounts the larger coupler. Please, several pictures, if you can. I'm particularly interested in the side bolts, if any. And welcome to the 21 club.

Hello from Michigan.  We should be taking delivery of our 21BHS before
the end of April. If what your dealer says about problems being the norm
LL needs to step up their game.  Lets hope they are few.

Hello and welcome , wishing you a smooth delivery . Our dealer said the same ...most have a few small bugs and they are working to improve .

Well Sunny Island RV in Rockford still does not have the 21BHS yet but according to the accountant, SI RV has been invoiced for the unit. We are still shooting for a Monday March 30th delivery. If for some reason LL did not install the heavier coupler 2 5/16 ball, we will wait until dealer installs it. I hope this is not the case but again will let everyone know how the delivery goes and any issues. I purchased the Andersen WDH with 2 5/16 ball due to all the threads and discussions on this forum; SI RV indicated they would attach it for me.

Good luck!

We were generally very pleased with Sunny Island RV pretty much exactly one year ago when we picked up our 2014 21BHS.

Drove there fromm N GA mainly due to availability and price.

Everything went well. No surprises. We actually filmed some of the tour - things like how to deploy the awning, for instance.

Only small thing was they said it was not necessary to grease the trailer ball. I always thought it was a good idea and just one day of towing sans grease caused some wear in the chrome I think grease would have prevented.

Well here is the latest on our new 21 BHS. It still has not arrived at SLRV in Rockford. I talked to sales to make sure it had the heavier coupler with larger ball because I purchased the Andersen Hitch with larger ball. So it appears LL did not install the heavier coupler (according to SLRV sales) due to not having it in stock and a three week delivery on getting one. WWhhaattt!? Sales said LL told them it was a special coupler with a different angle or something like that. SLRV had their technical guy call me to discuss. He said wwhhaatt, they have them there and will change it out before I arrive. He indicated they would make it right. So we now plan to pick it up later next week probably Friday in Rockford. I also talked to the walk through quality person and she said this was the first she had heard about the special coupler. Anyway I was told not to worry they will make sure all is well including two six volt golf cart batteries.
So now our trip north is reversed going to Grand Rapids first and visiting with our daughter/son in law and 6 and 2-year-old boys. Unfortunately, they will not get to stay in the camper this first trip.

Waiting on the arrival of your new camper is tough on the nerves. Sunny Island will make sure everything is the way it should be. Have a good trip.

Well the new pick up time is now 2PM Thursday April the 2nd in Rockford! I am being told they have the correct coupler and batteries in stock. The only possible issue I see is rain in the forecast for Rockford. I see from pictures posted by Fast Eddie that SI RV does appear to have an indoor area for product shakedown, delivery. More news in a few days!

A note of interest; Kim in quality control asked me if I needed a weight distribution hitch and I told her I already have the Andersen. I said I would have purchased from them but they did not stock it. She told me they will in the near future as they have several on order.

Well Jan and I got to pick up our trailer on Thursday afternoon at 2 PM. Steve the service manager was very helpful and walked us through all aspects of the trailer. They did install the larger coupler along with two six volt golf cart batteries and three vent covers. The trailer was only rinsed off and was not cleaned very well, the dreaded aluminum shavings everywhere.

We left Sunny Island RV about 520 PM and went to Rock Cut State Park about 20 minutes away for the first night. We had shore power but nothing else. We had the technician fill the fresh water tank about 1/2. That was a pretty good night as we practiced setting up at our own pace with only a handful of other campers in the area.

On Friday, we drove to Paducah KY and stayed at a Walmart. It had rained the entire way and winds 10-20 mph so we stopped a little early. At midnight Jan said the $20 was a very good deal the night before as we had an employee shift change, cars coming and going, one guy on a Harley that wanted everyone to know how loud his cycle was as he departed, and according to Jan a Zamboni in the parking lot! It was actually a street sweeping machine that went up and down the entire 5 acres of parking lot late that night. We were on battery power that night and used the furnace on propane. It worked great as the temperature was in the low 40's.

We departed for North GA and got home about 5 PM. Less rain on Saturday but the wind blew all day. I kept adjusting the Andersen WD hitch with less and more tension. I finally decided that the setting on 9 threads was the best for my rig. We averaged and exact 13 mpg with the Chevy Colorado for the 875 mile trip which was all interstate travel.

When we got home we had neighbors come over immediately for an inspection. They thought it was great. Then David our neighbor home builder said hey your counter top is coming apart! Sure enough the laminate was coming off!

Well we spent part of the day cleaning shavings, gluing laminate, oiling hinges on doors (very squeaky). Oh and I also got a tongue weight before we unloaded; 700 lbs on the dot. I guess the heavier coupler, WDH, two propane tanks, two six volt batteries and the electric power coupler adds up. It also has a metal slide tray on rollers in the front storage bay that is all metal and seems to be quite heavy. It is a life saver for getting to things in the front storage compartment.

I will take pictures of the heavier coupler later but it does have the side bolts (at my request) which was installed by the dealer. I asked them to install the coupler exactly as they would on the 28' trailer.

One more note of interest, when we first saw our trailer inside a metal delivery building, there was a toy hauler in there as well about to be delivered. They had just spent the day insulating the bottom of the trailer with batt insulation, heat tape on pipes, tank heaters, and then all  this was covered with plastic card board looking material. I told Steve if I had known they do that I may had requested that service. He said they do it all. He thought the price was about 800$ for that trailer but not sure about the exact price. We did not get to talk about the insulation much as we needed to get going on our unit.

I will try to post more pics later this week. MonteD.

Jan just called me to help her cut a foam pad mattress cover for the bunk beds! She and three little boys (6,4,2) are staying in it tonight.... maybe?
