[/p][p]You have done a fine job with your Son, Whoofit.  He is very blessed to have you as his Father.  [/p]
[p]Thank you kindly for those words. We are truly blessed with our family and friends and I count those blessings regularly.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Having said that I must confess to having felt the urge to strangle him on occasion. Since the feeling is most probably mutual, I'm sure, it's all good![/p][p]
[/p][p]From my experience boys are the real challenge and girls make you loose sleep worrying 'bout others' boys. Your mileage may have varied of course.

We camped with another couple & all packed in their 1972 two door Datsun B-210 & drove 5 or 6 hours each way to Ocracoke Island NC. My Wife, Daughter & I camped in our pup tent. It was an interesting camping trip over 40 years ago!
[p]THAT sounds like .... I don't know how to describe it ....  a journey of epic proportions fitted into a shoe box maybe?... (rofl) Man just think of all that adventure packed into that trip! Good times all around I'm sure. At least after the numbness subsided...[/p][p]
[/p][p]We once did a tent trip to Assateague Island from MA in a brand new '92 Mustang 4 banger. Only my oldest daughter remembers it where the ponies came up and ate her breakfast cereal right off the table in front of her...LOL. It forever shall be named "The Happy Oyster Trip" named after the car top carrier that was shaped like an oyster.[/p][p]
[/p][p]My wife picked that trip because her grandma would read her the childrens book titled "Misty of Chincoteague" centered in that area.[/p][p]
We're tent camping at a KOA with our youngest, not yet potty-trained.  It's a hot day so we three head to the pool for a dip.  Oh sure, we laugh now remembering Hubby nosediving for elusive turds on the bottom.  Wasn't too funny at the time...me, afraid we'd be found out; Hubby...well you can understand why he wasn't laughing.  We couldn't take the Boy anywhere...he pooped all the time (or so it seemed!).
[p]HA! Where are the floaters when you need them![/p][p]
[/p][p]We had an agreement back then. We were both keepers of the gates. Me the in gate and her the out gate. These roles only reversed before weening. They were, however, open for negotiation.[/p][p]
[/p][p]I also seem to find most of the KOA's have crappy pools too.....ba-dum-bum-tssh![/p][p]

I love reading all these stories. With so many adventures to hear about its always amazing to me how many connections we can all share based on such a simple love of the outdoors.

Our world desperately needs more young Men, like you Sean, who are willing to step up to the difficult but high calling of being a good Father.  No greater calling exists.

@gwbushhog Thank you for those kind words. I dont think I can put into words how they hit so close to home without sounding too sappy. I was lucky enough to have a father who shared a lot of these same adventures with me, and has always been an amazing role model. I am just happy that I get a chance to continue the tradition, and I hope to be even half the man he is.
