We visited D&H RV Center @ Apex NC today. Met with David & Joe. Good guys with plenty of LivinLite product knowledge. They have a nice inventory of QucikSilver, CampLite TT, and CampLite truck campers. They recently sold a CampLite 5th wheel, too.

Our goal is to refine our short list for the next TT purchase during 2015 or 2016. We looked at a CampLite 16 TBS and 21 BHS. We decided if our next purchase is a CampLite, it will be a 21 BHS.

2015 CampLite 21 BHS:

Have not seen a 13 BHB with this axle/fender arrangement before:

Well, for what it is worth, my husband, 2 dogs and I are happy with our 21-BHS. The RVing books I have read say that trailers in the 19 - 21 foot range are easier to back up than trailers shorter or longer.

When Debbie inspected the 21 BHS inside & out, she liked the 21 BHS best. CampLites have really changed (improved) from when our 2010 model was built.

It's nice the 13BHB to have the wheels like that because it will save space in the cabinet inside, but I don't like the look of it much

I liked D&H when I visited sometime last year. They are the reason I first noticed the LivinLite brand. In fact they had a real nice toy hauler where it was a flat bed in the front and an 8.1 pop up tuned side was on the rear. It was the 18SUT if I recall: http://www.livinlite.com/18sut-overview.php

At the time I didnt have the ability to tow something like that so I had to pass, but I walked away with a good feeling. I dont usually walk away from a dealer of any kind with a good feeling.

I also now realize how fortunate we are in NC to have a dealer with such a variety of the LivinLite models available.

Yep, pleasant to visit with them. Nice folks and did not experience high pressure tactics.

I have been thinking about that picture of the 13 foot Camplite with the wheel outside the frame. I checked LL's website. The Bearcat features wheels like that.

D&H RV is a class outfit.

Due to Dave's product knowledge he was able to swap out a dinette that we didn't want for a sofa that we did want. This scheme isn't in the LL catalogue, but it made the 16TBS perfect for us. He also was very accommodating and understanding of my desire to use a WDH if we bought the 21' model. He put me in touch with the right person at LL who explained the issue with a WDH on an aluminum frame.

FWIW I didn't like LL's answer but I understand their reasoning. Dave even went as far as to suggest that LL could build the 21 with the 28's deeper frame to take the loads of a WDH, but that was more expensive than just strengthening the 21' frame with aluminum plate doublers.

But the 16TBS that we did buy doesn't need a WDH so I am even more happy.

A Lady that just purchased a 13BHB said the axle arrangement was a special order for D&H. They probably copied the Bearcat axle arrangement.

I liked the 16TBS and my Wife liked the 21BHS. Feel I could tow the 16TBS with our 2013 4.0L Frontier with 6300lb tow capacity & 630lb tongue capacity. Even though the 21BHS is within the Frontier capacities, the more I think about it would probably go with a larger TV if we buy the 21BHS. I don't want to use a WDH if I can safely tow without one.

Does anyone have actual CL 16TBS TT & tongue weights?

I weighed the tongue on my 2014 16TBS when I got it home with nothing but a full propane tank and a single battery. It weighed 240 lbs. After I added water, gear inside and stuff in the forward pass through it went up to 280 lbs.

Don't know the loaded trailer weight. I am guessing 3,500 lbs. It tows nicely with my 2013 Pathfinder. Your Frontier should handle it just fine. Your Frontier should also handle the 21 as well, but I would use a WDH which may cause coupler bending like charliem is experiencing.

It looks better than it works!! But like I said above, I didn't like the dinette Heck I don't like dinettes on RVs, boats, whatever. So the sofa is much better than the dinette, but isn't very comfortable. Fortunately we don't have to use it much as we are almost always sitting outside enjoying the outdoors.
