[p]Maybe my eyes aren't seeing it, but is it possible for the board to show the creation date for each thread ? Ideally right under the thread title. It helps spot zombie threads but mainly helps you recognize a thread and decide whether to read it.[/p][p]

I'm not sure if there is a way to display the creation date of a thread but on the far right of each thread it will show the Date, Time, and Author of the last update. The last update time seems more practical anyways (unless I'm missing your overall point).

As I think about it though I have only verified this in a traditional web browser with the full site. I dont know if these same details are available via the mobile site(s).

While I think that the creation date might be useful to flag old threads that popped up because someone posted something new to them, most BBS systems do not support that capability or maybe more likely it isn't implemented.

I subscribe to several forums that use the ubiquitous vBulletin BBS engine and none of them support it. A couple of forums that use a home grown system don't do it either.

When I occasionally run across one of those "zombie" threads I am often taken back until I go back a couple of postings and see that they are a year or more old. But sometimes old threads provide useful information, so I am not sure that seeing the original creation date would make any difference to me.

[/p][p]From time to time (not here, so much, but I think it will eventually happen) someone will create a post on a forum with an interesting title, and it may even be interesting for a while until it veers off track, bickering, or just whatever and is no longer of interest. No problem, I don't need to continue reading it.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Then you come bopping along one morning, see a thread marked unread, the title looks interesting, and you don't have much of a clue that it's "that thread".[/p][p]
[/p][p]Or, you do a search and find a thread from 6 months ago, 3 years ago, etc. and without realizing it, you post a reply to a member who hasn't logged in in months/years (aka zombie thread).[/p][p]

From the looks of it this isnt going to be feasible since I dont see a built in option nor a add-in.

I'm sure with enough desire someone could code something to add that but I dont have that much free time ;)

Yeah, I was only asking if there was a standard option you could enable. Thanks for checking !
