Have been enjoying our QS6 for a year and half, taking advantage of the many, many beautiful opportunities for camping right in our immediate area. It tows beautifully with our Honda CRV, even on our steep and winding mountain roads. We've also taken a couple of trips to Florida. Still refining our equipment and methods in order to keep our outings as simple and efficient as possible. We think we're almost there in terms of getting things "just right."

Welcome to the boards. I cant wait to hear the stories and experiences. I love the Carolina mountains and try to make my way over there as often as I can. I'm in central NC just outside of Raleigh so its only a few hours drive for my family.

Welcome.  We're in the same boat in terms of "refining our equipment and methods".  This week, we'll be leaving on our 8th trip with our 21BHS, all of them local.  Over time, we've really gotten good with setting up and taking down, as well as dealing with anything in the trailer itself.  Next month, we're heading out to the Grand Canyon and Moab, but now I can back in, set up and take down with confidence.

Welcome!

Coincidentally, we camped in Asheville Saturday night:

You may recognize our camping location - our second night just boondocking in a Walmart!

In any case, we're about 3 hours from you in N GA - let's hook up some time!

Welcome from near Virginia Beach.

Having lived not far from you in Waynesville I understand what you mean about camping opportunities in that area. Haven't had the chance to take my QS up there yet but I have tent camped all over those mountians. Some of my favorites were Moonshine Creek in Balsam, Sunburst near Lake Logan, Cosby campground in TN north of Gatlinburg and Julian Price Park near Boone on the Parkway(grew up camping there as a kid both in a tent and a Starcraft popup, good memories :) ). Also Cataloochee in the GSMNP is nice but hard to get to due to the narrow unpaved road, but people do bring in their TT's and Horse trailers.

Some of the campgrounds we especially enjoy are Black Mountain (between Burnsville and the BR Parkway), Standing Indian (near Franklin), and Mt. Pisgah (on the Parkway--and from where you can, if you wish, stroll over to Pisgah Inn for a nice meal with a great view.

Bill,
Speaking of Pisgah Inn, I remember back in the first part of May of '92 that surprise snowfall that came out of nowhere. If I remember right it was a few feet on Mt.Pisgah and all the guests at the inn and the campground got stuck up there for a couple of days, I know we got right around a foot there in Waynesville .What was funny is Mt.Pisgah isn't that far from Asheville and Asheville didn't even see a flake of snow.

BTW Black Mountian and Standing Indian are pretty nice campgrounds too.

We plan to pull our 13QBB to that area, near Tuckasegee, in January. I know it's beautiful and should offer many hiking experiences.
