Yep, been looking at different floor coverings, too. Thinking about rubber square tiles like I want in the garage. Would not be expensive in the CampLite 11. That would come after the motorcycle project for my Wife. Been sooo busy since retirement, loving it, too!

I need to wait to see what the vinyl floors are like before making any carpeting decisions here.  Just posted it if anyone wanted really good stuff for a bit less.

Exploring Carolina,
We put the vinyl interlocking tiles that you use in a garage in our 16TBS and love them! Sure makes a difference.  We bought from Elite Flooring online. They are interlocking so there is no gluing down either.  Took off for two weeks and it looks like we have never stepped a foot on the flooring.

I read on irv2 about what people have to do to repair their particle board/plywood floors when their carpet or vinyl needs replacing. Livin Lite ' s system is so much better. I just hope the vinyl floors on the new Camplites will be easy to remove when the time comes to replace it. Still no insulation against a cold floor. Not sure what I will do about that.

We like to use mats as rugs on the floor.  Our camper is so small, will be easy to install rubber interlocking tiles. Like having something on the floor especially on cold nights. Have noticed when towing during heavy rain, sometimes get a little water seepage between some of the floor planks. It's not a big deal and takes a few minutes to wipe clean. Like the idea of having a floor covering we can easily remove in our camper.

I want washable rugs on my camper's floor. I have 2 dogs and we go out, regardless of the weather. We will do more of this with a camper. When they come in wet and muddy, I like to wash the rugs. I wash their beds, which are blue foam-filled washable beds.

I wonder how the vinyl flooring will be when towing the Camplite through a heavy rain. I have heard from other owners that water will come up between the aluminum planks.

Have not used vinyl floor in a CampLite, but probably will do fine.  Currently have rubber backed mats and no issues, that's why I want rubber tiles. Met one guy with a LivinLite VRV toy hauler, and he hoses the dirt/grime/mud off the floor after every trip. That's why I like aluminum plank floors. The previous camper we had developed rot in the wood floor.

exploringcarolina,

We used the vinyl interlocking tiles bought from Elite Flooring online. They can be removed and put back in if needed. They are very durable and look great!  Gave our unit a very homey feel and the floor feels great to walk on.

I really like having the interlocking 1/2 inch rubber mats underneath the stock carpet.  The extra cushion is nice, warm and I can still pick up the carpet for a quick shake out.

Just installed the interlocking tile squares from Multy (Multy Home Active Floor Tile Black 16.5" x 16.5") in our 16BHB:

Because of all the corners to cut around, the project took me more than five hours to do. I used about 36 tiles for the job. A must is a good sharp utility knife and a metal straight edge. The new flooring does add a better look than the aluminum flooring. And of course, the flooring is easier on the feet. Much warmer than a cold metal floor. I suspect with the new flooring, there is some insulation factor.

This was an easy project. But you do need some patience to cope with the corners.

I used the foam tiles from Harbor Freight, and I sweep the thing out with a leaf blower at the end of a trip.
[div][/div]How do the factory rugs do??  Does it stay in place?

We have only had the camper 2 days and have camped one night.  So far we just used low pile bath rugs with good floor gripping backing, by the door and bed,
We bought a large and 3 small indoor outdoor mats from Home Depot. Cheap and works great. Shake em out once a day. We use the two factory rugs outside to reduce dirt coming in on dog and human feet. And we throw those in the washing machine after each trip. I though they would already be trashed after four washes, but they're doing OK so far.

Anybody else have an issue with the interlocking floor smell?  Mine is putrid...
