Our new Quicksilver 8.0 had a faulty dust plug that covers the city water valve when not in use. It wouldn't stay on the valve. Our dealer sent us a new one, but I have no idea how to get it on. Looks like the whole flange should not have to be removed to attach the lanyard, but the threaded part doesn't seem to screw off. Am I missing something?  Anybody ever try replacing this small part?  Thanks for any suggestions you may have.

This is like our set up, although the threaded part is black plastic:

Looks like you'd have to remove the flange, pull the fixture, unthread it from its connection, disassemble the fixture, reassemble with the new cover keeper in place, then reconnect and reinstall.

Pass.

Since the old one is still there, cut it off where it comes off the retaining ring - leaving the ring in place on the collar, then thread a small ziptie through that ring and the ring of the new one, just so it doesn't go missing, and use it from there.

Thanks, Pinstriper. I think that's just what we'll do.
