So, our family has had dozens of tent camping vacations.  Since our kids were very small, we've spent countless nights in our Springbar canvas tent.  A few years ago, we visited our daughter, who was working a summer job at Yellowstone, and stayed in a campground.  When the week was over, my wife informed me that her days of sleeping on the ground were coming to an end.  Well, knowing that day would come, I've had my eyes on Quicksilvers for many years.  I love the idea of not being married to a certain size vehicle just to pull a camper 3 weeks out of the year.

Adhuntr.com scours Craigslist from every location around the country, so it's great for searching for things like this - where there may be just a handful listed on Craigslist anywhere at any given time.  So I pull up adhuntr about once a month to feed my Quicksilver fantasy.  Further feeding this is the fact that our 25th is this year (to be celebrated next year, due to the above mentioned daughter's wedding this past May), and we've been putting money aside.

Imagine my surprise last weekend when a Quicksilver 8.1, the model we want, popped up on adhuntr with an Evansville, IN listing.  Holy Cow, that's where we live.  Emailed, yes, it's available.  So, we've got 4/5th of the payment, could we given you what we've got and you keep it in your garage for a month or so until we've got the balance saved?  Yep, no problem.  So we made the 3 minute drive to look at this 2013 8.1 and it's essentially brand new.  It was used for one season, then due to a job change, kept in storage.  It's a pleasing grey color, has the a/c and propane package, awning, etc.

So we are super excited.  My wife and I have jobs that give us Fridays off (we have some weekend responsibilities), so when our youngest goes to college next year, we're really looking forward to heading to a nearby state park on Thursday evenings and getting a couple of nights in the campground.

I was pleased to find this board and have already learned a lot - I'm glad you're here!  Looking forward to learning about what, for us, is a new way of camping.  Thanks!

Great find! Welcome to the fun. I grew up in Angola, the opposite end of the Hoosier state.

Welcome, your story is similar to mine. I wanted seller to wait until retirement package finalized. For a couple hundred dollars, he was happy to oblige. Best deal ever for me. I am sure you will find this forum a great source of information.
