We just purchased our LL in July. I know from others that the Thor travel trailer family of brands are all about the bottom line; - they have stockholders to make happy.  I see them as the builder of my trailer and of NO HELP beyond that.  I suggest some of you go to the Casita Club site and see what CONTENT owners can build without any help from a FAMILY run non-bottom line business. I AM NOT HERE TO BASH LL, but I see them as useless from day one and I still purchased their trailer because we wanted something bigger and built well. We owned our Casita for 16 years and as owner's did our own rallies without a DIME from Casita!  We OWNERS need to OWN this LL forum and support it.  I am retired now and want to travel as much as we can, help plan and run rallies with my fellow owners.  We CAN DO IT!!!! I feel the key here is excited owners talking about or trailers, doing modifications to improve them (with pictures), and sponsoring our own rallies.  When we purchased or Casita the business was still young and has grown now to a solid following of owners.  We can learn from each other and improve OUR LL FOURM.

I will now get off my Soap box and encourage us to plan our own gatherings. Anyone in for a Florida or Smokey Mt. Rally? (Get-to-get-her)
LL spent $12-15K supporting that first regional rally, wow!! How many were there? I didn't pay much attention to it, but it seemed like there were a dozen or so campers. Maybe LL would kick in that much per person for our Maine meetup in August. We now have six campers confirmed and another few maybes. We could have a blast on just a measly grand!!!! Well, we will have a blast without LL's support.

David
There were 41 at the picnic at Ft. Stevens, but I'm not sure how many units that represented (and 4 people were LL or dealer staff). Pinstriper's calcs included the trips of the 2 LL staff, plus other indirect and direct costs, I suspect. LL did not pay any of the camping or travel costs of the attendees, so it was all a marketing/business development trip for them. We would have done it all without LL too, but it was nice to have the show of interest and for them to listen to our comments at both the picnic and around the campfire. Interested LL owners like @ammobob and @pinstriper did all the local work.

Maybe ask your question there and see if anyone would like to have a meet up in FL or SMNP.

Exactly. They had 2 travel from the factory, plus the local dealer hauled a new 21' out. I'm sure they all got paid for working. Then there were 25 or so $25 gift cards to wallyworld, everyone got a $200 gift certificate for service thru the local dealer - dunno how many have used theirs but I have used mine and happy with the service - I got my bearings repacked and a full undercarriage inspection for critter cracks and sealing.

Plus they had burgers and dogs and drinks for everyone.

Its not like we all got princely gifts, but it would be grossly unfair to not acknowledge the commitment they showed.

(Get-to-get-her)
I organized one for the Acadia NP meetup this past summer and have started on the one at the Mattawmkeag campground in Maine next August. It is probably best to first pick a campground that you know, will accomodate a reasonable number of campers, has decent facilities (I continue to learn that full hookups are important to some) and takes reservations. Then start a new thread in the Meetups section and note the campground and propose a date or a time window. That is how I started on the meetup next year and some were ok anytime and a few wanted early August, so that is what we settled on.

Once a date is agreed, you have to keep the potential meetup in front of the membership. i wasn't going to say anything more about the meetup until next year, but the potential demise of this site got the prior interested members to send me their email and another 2 or 3 have also said they were interested such as yourself.

So post something every month or so to keep interest going. Then when it gets to be a few months away, start a private message thread or now that I have every one's email address, I will probably use those to discuss specifics that would only interest participants, like white water rafting, hike up Katahdin, dinner arrangements, etc.

It isn't difficult, fun actually. And you get to meet some like minded people in interesting places. Go for it.

I haven't heard anything back from LL and I'm not really expecting to, but I'll let all of you know if I do.

Quick update. Without going into too much detail I have made progress with LL. We are hashing out detail but everything is looking very positive.
