Learned from my previous camper, the OEM shower head needs upgrading. Most people install the Oxygenics Body Spa available from Amazon or CW. It's available in several finishes. Add a new swivel mount for the head and your wife will love you.

Discard the supplied shutoff and substitute a brass shutoff mounted on the shower valve assembly. The Oxygenics valve takes two hands to operate. Go figure. Before installing the new shutoff drill out the small hole and add two more holes to the wall mounted valve assembly to allow maximum water flow. The water flow will be limited to about 2 GPM by the shower head itself.

We've got the same one in white and love it. Can't say that I had any trouble with the shutoff though I haven't given it much attention. Now you'll make me look at it more closely and I'll probably end up swapping it out  :P

I had a Oxegenics shower head.  Was a real treat to shut off with soapy hands, went to using wash cloth to shut it off, life was good.  That was until I turned the control too much and it fell part in my hands.  (this is what we call operator malfunction) Opps.  Could not get back together.  Will have to by another. Live and learn.

Toss it and add the Danco shutoff pictured. Less $$ than a new Oxygenics and it works.

You shouldn't need to drill anything for this project...
I drill out the small hole and added two more before I screwed on the new shutoff. I wanted the Oxygenics to be the flow limiting device. However, if you do this be sure to get all the plastic shavings out before twisting on the shutoff. Do this by inverting a coffee cup over the drilled holes and turning on the water full blast. Then tape the threads and screw on the shutoff. Don't know if the drilling was necessary, but I hate flow restricters. That's the function of the shutoff and my fingers.

Also you may need new holes if you mount a swivel holder for the hand held device.

I installed my Oxygenics shower head today, I purchased it several months ago. Very interesting discovery, when using the shutoff valve a small stream of water continues to flow. I thought this was defective and called the CS number that came with the shower head. Two things learned from the call:

1. According to Oxygenics CS, the stream of water is supposed to be there to keep the water from backing up in the system and getting much hotter causing a burn. This small stream of water keeps this from happening; who knew!
2. I told CS I purchased it several months ago from a company via Amazon and her response was interesting. She sais she did not want to make me angry, but they would not warranty the shower head if something breaks because it was purchased via Amazon. She suggested in the future to use Camping World and gave me CW price of $32 something and I said I paid 27. So I guess they only warranty product  via CW; buyer beware as this RV industry is really different. I told her CW was very often much higher than Amazon even on their sales prices. I have purchased a few things via CW but not much, so maybe not many items have a warranty?

Saw this post and thought this was great! Never liked the stock shower head trailer came with anyway. I clicked on the link above to Amazon.com and found the price went up by a couple of dollars then what others said they paid ($45.99), then went to Camping world to comparison shop and found it cheaper than A.com by less than a dollar ($44.19), but of course these are in US funds, so since I'm Canadian, I had a look at Amazon. Ca and WOW... ($156.99). I think that's a little more of a mark up than Exchange rate and duties lol. I'm heading to New Jersey in August and I know there's a CW on the way... might stop in to see if they have one and talk the wife in to allowing me to do one more upgrade:).

I just ordered this: http://www.ecocamel-showerheads.com/products/product/110-jetstorm.  You can order it with a shut-off valve and an adjustable wall holder (I got both).  I'll let you know how it works out. Here's a review of it that I found helpful: http://www.motorhome.com/rv-travel-news/a-better-shower/
