Leave tomorrow for Moab. Going for three weeks at least. Boondocking several days at a time and maybe even fulltime if it suits us well. We washed the dog, stocked up on hot dogs, kicked the tires and charged the flashlight. What could go wrong?... 8-)

Have fun, I was in Moab last year about this time on my camper shakedown. Camped at Dead Horse Point State Park for a week me and the dog loved it.

We were able to reserve three nights by taking a site for two nights then moving to a different site on the third night. It's a popular place to try to reserve. We'll see whether we stay there or not. It depends on how the boondocking goes but we have it if we want it.

Because we are staying for at least three weeks out there we also reserved a few days at a local kennel. As you know some of the parks we want to bike and hike into don't allow pets. This was a big help as the locals that run it knew where all the secluded and sparsely used dispersed camping sites are. Some I was unable to find on the web.

We stayed at the rest area just west of Omaha and the wind was fierce and steady that night. As soon as we lit the water heater to take showers the CO detector sounded off. At first I suspected a false alarm but got near the floor and could smell the exhaust from it. Lots of incomplete combustion on the LP water heaters.

Tested by shutting down the WH and the alarm cleared so we left a window open while running it.

Out of the desert in Manti-La Sal NF at 8,000 ft now for a few nights then off to the sand dunes. All systems go. 100% off grid and lovin it.
