Hopefully picking up my new 21bhs next week.  They needed to fix the window screen and the pedestal for the table.  The one I'm getting has a sliding tray in the front pass thru.  I haven't seen this option on any other camp lite.

A sliding tray in the pass-through is a real plus!  Personally, this is the first 'positive' we've noted from Thor's new influence. Will be looking forward to more such helpful upgrades.

Good to have another mitten member! Where in Michigan? I've noted 7 forum members from Michigan, with at least another 5 members who have camped in Michigan. Nice place we have here  ;)

Don't accept an offhand answer. Explain the issue and ask him to walk out to your trailer and check the size marked on the coupler. Be prepared.
Any 20 minute job can be stretched
to a week with proper planning

[div]Hi Philip,

If you have any other info on your sliding tray, i.e. pictures or info on who manufactured it (if not Livin Lite) , I would be very interested.  I was thinking about designing and installing one in my 21RBS so I could slide out the tray with my BBQ, hook up the propane and cook meat!  I purchased a 2015 (preconfigured) from a dealer and this was not included.  :(   How high does the tray sit above the deck of the trailer?  Good luck with your new trailer.  We are new owners as well and have only had one chance to take it out before winter set in.  I'm sure glad we purchased ours in the fall as the Canadian dollar has tanked recently making a purchase today prohibitive.  Having said that, Canada is on sale for you folks. Come on up, enjoy the camping and the extra buying power of your dollar.

Cheers

Mike

The sliding trays are widely available aftermarket in a variety of widths. Here's an example at Camping World. Also at American RV Company and Amazon, etc. Rather spendy, but handy.

I'm picking up my trailer this week and will try to post some pictures of the tray in the front pass thru.  The tray on my new trailer is metal.  I'll try to get manufacture details

Regarding the tray, gleamb made his own out of wood; it looked good and I bet it would cost a lot less.  Yes, it is wood, but a very handy and economical option.  Search under Camplite Mods, heading was "Basement Storage Pullout DONE.    Using a grill on wood could be dicey, but no more so than on a hard plastic, which the OEM appears to be made of.  I do like the idea of a grill  on a slide out.  Common sense and good safety practices should make either mounting system safe.

Just  found this:  a really neat setup.  Wood and metal.     https://www.pinterest.com/pin/436075176392434242/

A little FYI on the factory pass through tray. I am not trying to run anyone who wants one off but just pass on something passed to me when we ordered our 21BHS. The tray is steel and adds significantly to the tongue weight. Dealer told me it weighs 400 lbs and they were not recommending it. I am looking for one made of Aluminum. Gleamb did a great job on his but, I just can't talk myself into using wood. May have to build one myself.
