Just out of curiosity I am wondering what people are doing to cover the cold bare floor.  I was wondering if a wooden laminate would work.  Have some left over from a laundry room.  Only concern with that or carpet is being able do easily remove it to dry it out.  Camped a couple weeks ago in a monsoon and had no other option but to pack up in the downpour.  Of course once it was folded up everything inside was soaked.  Laminate concerns me if moisture gets underneath then you have a breeding ground for mold mildew etc.

we used indoor/outdoor carpet from lowes.  it is cheap and durable and since it is low pile it is easy to clean if you get anything on it.  we cut it to fit and since our vrv is a toyhauler, we roll it up prior to putting the toys in when we break camp.  it does a pretty good job and you can walk on the floor in bare feet in all but freezing weather

We use a few random rugs. When they get dirty they are easily removed and washed.

We've never used anything in our 8.1 but various throw rugs, what I call the "Persian rugs" (but I have a weird sense of humor). My understanding is that LL no longer makes the custom rug that fits around the low cabinet (or AC) by the door, but when we bought Rose in 2010 we ordered it and still have it. It's washable. We added a more-or-less matching gray throw rug from Voldemart to cover the rest of the deck. Over time we figured out that thin rugs don't insulate well in cooler weather, so we've added more, but always low-nap, easily removed for thorough cleaning. Some are even washable. We also have a couple of washable entrance rugs we use below the step.

Some folks get the interlocking foam tiles that really insulate, great if you camp much in chilly weather. People carefully cut them out to it around cabinets and such, but I can't get on my knees for an length of time any more so we make do with the Persian rugs.  :D

Proud owner of "Rose," 2010 QS 8.1, VERY heavily used (not a "weekender" at all), holding up GREAT!

[font size="3"]If you want a warm floor and are willing to work a bit, install 2' x 2' interlocking rubber floor tiles. Very warm, cushy to bare feet, easy to replace if damaged, and no mildew/rot.

Any 20 minute job can be stretched
to a week with proper planning

I went with the interlocking foam tiles. Cheapest source was Harbor Freight - on sale at $9.99 for a pack of 6.

My experience, with photos, towards the end of this thread:

I got my interlocking floor tiles at Sam's club.... a little thicker than Harbor Freight....very easy to work with.make the floor very comfortable.

If you use any of the foam tiles open the package and let them air out for a day or two to keep the odor down a bit.

Also take into account that the foam tiles expand a fair amount in the summer so be sure to leave expansion room if you are installing them in cooler temps.

I covered the entire floor of my Axxess with the 2x2 foam from Lowe's. Works great and easy to wash.

In any case, they were quite a bit cheaper - $9.99/pack, I think. As a data point, virtually no smell when installed, though they had sat for a few months in their packaging before we installed them.
