[p]If you like to Dry camp, camp near a River, Fish a nice slow flowing River or just kick back and enjoy the fresh high mountain air (8200ft Elevation) then this is a nice place to visit.[/p][p]
[/p][p]This is a River but to me it is more like a Bigger stream, different times of the year like spring time, it is a River and the Fishing is terrible.[/p][p]
[/p][p]From June through October is the best time to stay here. This camping area is Free, some camping sites are in the New Mexico Game and Fish Rec area, further up the road there are some Forest Service camp sites But the Road gets rougher past the NM Game and Fish camp sites.[/p][p]Some of the camp sites do have enclosed clean outhouses.[/p][p]This area also has cabins in the canyon so Vehicles are on the road during the day but not constantly.[/p][p]
[/p][p]No firewood here or to pick from in the canyon but the Nearby Town of Antonito Colorado at the only town Grocery Store has it in $5 bundles, if you need anything else that Grocery Store just may have it.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Best time here is during the Week days but if you are already in your camp site and stay the weekend is not a issue as the Camp sites are Not close to each other.[/p][p]
[/p][p]A NM Fishing License is required if you plan to fish.[/p][p]
[/p][p]The Cumbres/Toltec train is located in Antonito, CO (12 miles from the NM game and Fish Camp sites)[/p][p]
[/p][p]A pic shows the Rio de Los Pino's River if you scroll down the posting past the instructions.[/p][p]
