Zipped or unzipped?

Just got an awning for my QS 6.0 and used it for the first time last weekend.  A big storm came through so I was glad that we had the added cover.  It was staked down well and was not affected by the wind.  Here's my question to others who may have the zipper-attached awning on their QS camper-- keep it zipped on while folding up the tent or unzip it first?

I've done it both ways.  It just depends on how likely I am to use the awning the next time I set up.

Normally I use a Kelly Noah's Tarp 16 instead of the factory awning.  It's more trouble to set up, but it gives a lot more shade and rain protection.  I cover most of the camper with the Tarp and still have more protected space outside.
