Hello!

I am new to this blog.  My name is Andrew. Joyce my wife to be (we are both in are mid 50's) live in Minnesota.  We love to camp! We will be getting married next spring. We have been looking for about six months for a Quicksilver 10.0 tent camper with the LP package ( stove and furnace) to use on our honeymoon. We will be taking a camping trip up the north shore and then up into North Dakota.  We also like to camp way into the fall when the temps are low and snow and ice are common.

We we are looking for just the basic QuickSilver 10.0 with the LP package. No AC required up here.  I am joining this forum because I am very interested in learning about what others have experienced with their campers and to help get direction in locating and purchasing a Quicksiver 10.0 that is in good shape!

Thanks for your help!

Andrew

Check the for sale area of this forum. Saw 1 in Indiana for sale on 15 May. Not sure about LP package on that one but it was a 2007 model.

The Dealer in Eau Claire had three or four of them last time I was there.  Maybe a month ago. [a href="http://www.prestigervauto.com/default.asp?page=xallinventory&p=1&s=Year&d=D&vc=pop%20up%20camper"] Prestige Campers  [/a]

Also, check out the website of Prosser RV near Milwaukee.  I bought my 6.0 from there a couple of years ago.  Good people- I can highly recommend the dealership.

Oh, and congratulations, by the way.  Wy wife and I will be celebrating 35 years on Sunday.  She always tells me that she would love to go camping with me . . . if it is not too cold, or too hot, or too dry, or too wet, or too windy, or not too far away . . .   Needless to say, I'm a pretty experienced solo camper (she only came one time).

[p]Look into the popupgizmos for your tent foldout beds.
I tried mine the 1st nite/day and they did do as claimed. (didn't try the Bunk inner liners as it wasn't that cold)
These will come in handy with the Colder Fall temps as you mentioned.
You should also upgrade your Battery to handle the furnace use in colder camping weather, consider getting a small generator with enough watts to handle a 700watt micro, if you end up w/a microwave oven.
The Generator comes in handy if you need to recharge the Quicksilver Battery and get a separate Battery charger that you plug into the Generator. Most built-in Battery charges on generators only recharge at a trickle charge which will take forever to top off your RV Battery.[/p][p]This link is for the Bunk Liners, they also have the outer tent cover, that is the one I tried out-Excellent Product for the low cost of it.

[/p]
What size did you order, and do you have any pics of it installed? I'm guessing your tip-out bunk size is identical to mine, they probably are the same on all of the LivinLite models...

I've been seriously thinking about ordering one of the super high wind models...

[p]I only had it on for day one, the creek we were camped next to was like a River and loud at night because of the Still high country snow melt run-off.[/p][p]The Following 4 Nites I had the tent foldout bed folded in and slept on the comfy sofa bed, so I never got a pic with it on.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Best to follow the instructions on there homepage for measuring But Gizmos ordering person did take down my Model and tent size, so it may be in there charts now, just Mention Bruce from NM for his Bearcat Livin-lite, I'm sure he will remember.[/p][p]I did get the Super High Wind Cover and I will be installing it again on my next Campout, week of June 22. This Campout will be at 8300ft elevation, close to a creek but not right next to it, so I'll be able to use the fold-out tent.[/p][p]Shipping is Fast and they have Excellent Customer Service.
Our Tent Fold out Beds are the same size, so if you mention Bearcat 16FK it will be the same for the 7x20 for measurements.

Took some Pics with the Gizmo on and recommend using a step stool to help with the mounting at the top side of the tent/right at the side of the trailer.
I used the included clamps at the seems on the sides of the Gizmo since they included them. I also used three clamps each near the top of the Gizmo and clipped directly onto the rain rail on the trailer right above the tent top corners.
One night the Winds were howling up to 40mph, the High Wind Gizmo didn't move at all and it did keep the trailer cooler inside during the day and warmer inside during the night hours including the windy night.

I ran the bungie cords closest to the trailer down the rain rails then connected to each other on the underside.
if by yourself, use another spare bungie cord to extend one of the Gizmo bungie cord ends, then hook the gizmo cords to each other.

Here is a closer look of the Clamps at the top corners.
