Aargh. Next finding on the 16DBS:  Dealer sold me a Rhinoflex 15 ft sewer hose, complete with fittings. The thing compresses to 4 ft; without the fittings, a little less.

The TT holding tube is only 24 inches???

What have you all done about this situation?

I installed a longer tube on the opposite side of my 21BHS, and put a longer hose in there.

Kept the shorter one in place and bought a coupler so I can, if needed, use both together, which I've needed to once so far.

I have the 15 foot rhino hose and chose to go with this telescoping storage tube: http://www.dwincorp.com/products/125/NEW-SUPER-SLIDER-Adjustable-SUPER-TUBE

Installed a longer tube as well.

We owned a 2013 16 DB and this is where we mounted out extra carrier for our 15' hose. You can see it going across the camper. It's white and just behind the front outrigger jack.

Thanks much.  Proves I'm not crazy... the provided tube is just totally inadequate.  Okay, off to some of the ideas in the thread.

i just cut down the sewer hose (unscrew the end/cut/screw the end back on)...it is still plenty long enough to reach the connector at the dump station and would be long enough if we ever camped with hookups

[p]I second the Super Slider. IIRC our Rhinoflex is ~60" collapsed with fittings. I mounted the Super Slider where the OEM one was. Need to lower the front stabilizer slightly to access the tube. This can be trouble if you forget to raise it while feeling rushed by a line of poopie laden RV's waiting for a chance to relieve themselves at checkout time....[/p][p]
[/p][p]By the way be prepared to fabricate a bracket for one of the mounting holes.  LL only attaches 3 of the four. Not too brilliant in my opinion.[/p]

[p]Provided you haven't used it, yet, that shorty tube makes a dandy place to stash a spare set of keys. I mean, who's going to go touching your sewer tube ?

But actually, I  got a short section of sewer hose for use at close-in connections. I mounted a long tube across the front of the trailer. The short tube carries a 5' section (expanded) and the long tube carries a tenner. I use the [a href="http://www.amazon.com/Prest-O-Fit-1-0067-Duraform-Sewer-Hose/dp/B002NFLRAC"]Duraform hoses[/a]. They expand and stay expanded until you compress them. Bend and they stay bent.[/p][p]
[/p][p]Trust me when I say, the last thing you need when managing a sewer hose is spring action. DAMHIK[/p]

Thanks, guys. There may be more questions when getting it mounted to the TT. I'm beginning to wonder if LL does this stupid stuff on purpose just to give you guys something to wrestle with on weekends.

I do kinda like the key hiding idea, tho...

I removed the existing short tube, and replaced it with a 5' PVC pipe.

The Supertube from D&W exactly fits the frame parallel to the rear bumper when the tube is fully extended. I mounted ours under the bumper, between the bumper and the black tank. On top of the bumper I mounted a battey box to hold gloves, fittings, and Clorox wipes. I should label the box "Poop Stuff" so no one steals it thinking its a battery. I removed the OEM tube because it makes the plumbing fittings behind it all the more difficult to get to. I guess I need to get Flickr set up.

Even considered the top of the bumper, the compartment still just clears there, but that real estate is prime. Considered mounting under the trailer fore the axle across the frame, another perfect fitment point. Would need to kneel and reach under the trailer in not so clean conditions though. In the end the original OEM mounting location worked best for me. This because I have those spring loaded stabs that tilt out of the way and not the lead screw type.
