Last Friday, I went to Home Depot and picked up 2 packs of 2'x2' foam tiles. We could either get terrazzo or wood "flooring". We opted for the wood, just for a homey feeling.

I was 2 tiles short of completing the whole floor, but realized a cheap entry throw rug would fit nicely under the table. This past weekend, it was 42 degrees at night and windy. We had an oil filled radiator in there which kept it above 60. I'm glad I put the floor in before we went.

Do the 2'x2' tiles interfere with slide outs?

I have a QS 10, so no slide outs. I did not measure but they are probably 7/16" thick.

Those were the thickest tiles I could find and give the best insulation. Initially there is a slight interference with some cosmetic trim pieces on the lower corners of the slide below the seats. These are not needed and easily removed. After that the slide operates without impairment. The slide bounces during travel and does leave a slight impression on the floor, but it's not objectionable and soon ignored. I don't believe the 16s or 14s would even have this issue due to the way the slides are elevated.[/font]

Thank you for the information. I really appreciate everyone's kindness in the forum. We are hoping to order a CampLite next fall.

The rubber foam tiles I sourced from Costco and Harbor Freight both fit easily under the slideout of our 21BHS and do not interfere with it.

I am interested to see how the wood grain holds up on the foam panels. It looks great and really seems to make it lighter in there. May have to look for these when we replace the tiles we have installed now.

My wife bought indoor/outdoor carpet at Home Depot. She cut it to fit but it slides around a little. Was hoping to not put anything sticky on the floor to hold it.

Sorry for not responding sooner, life happens. We have the off-road package on our QS10. With having this package, the benches are no longer removable to accommodate the larger wheel wells. We just finished our first trip of the year and after 10 nights in it, they are still holding up. We have 3 kids and no one wears shoes on it, except for right in front of the door.

We just ordered this Diamond Tread Garage Flooring from Home Depot:

The 7.5 x 17 piece will do our entire trailer seamlessly (we are about 16.5 ft from the rear cargo door to the front kitchen cabinets, and a little over 6.5 ft wide inside). The leftover pieces should be enough to even cover the floor of the kitchen cabinets and front cargo area, although those areas will have seams.

How much will that help with the temperature? It's probably not quite as bad as directly stepping on cold aluminum, but will it be that much different?  No doubt it will wear well.

It is a pretty popular flooring choice for toyhaulers, because of the ease of cleaning up any oil or fuel drippings from the toys. Our main reason for going this route is because with the wintertime day/night temperature fluctuations we get here in the PNW, the daily freeze/thaw was causing condensation under the carpet tiles we had in there and they got moldy so we had to rip them all out and throw them away.

We've learned that leaving vents open keeps the condensation from forming, so hopefully that won't happen again, but if it does, it will be a lot easier to deal with on vinyl sheet flooring that can just be rolled back to clean underneath.

Rigid vinyl plank flooring is great for this application too. When we camp in the winter it gets mighty cold. If you spill something it is instantly frozen and the condensation is mad crazy. With the vinyl flooring, with a layer of insulation between it and the Al sub floor, I no longer worry about my dog's tongue insta-freezing to the floor...
