Camplite Travel Trailers / 28BHS Recommendations
November 02, 2015, 11:15:08 PM
I am considering purchasing a 2015 28BHS, does anyone have one that can provide recommendations etc. I currently own a 21BHS and previously a 16DB so I am very familiar with camplites, we just love them.

Thanks for the thoughts.

What is thermal grease and why is it necessary in this application?
Thanks

Truck Camper Magazine just did an interview with the Camplite Engineer that designs their campers. It also provides a good insight on how they are built, check it out at www.truckcampermagazine.com

Camplite Travel Trailers / Towing a 16DBA with Half Ton
September 30, 2014, 10:37:48 PM
I just purchased a 2015 Chevy Tahoe 4x4 5.3 L with max tow package to pull my 21bhs loaded weight of 4,200 lbs tongue weight 575. Wow what a difference a properly matched tow vehicle makes. The Tahoe is an unbelievable vehicle and tows like a champ. It is rated to tow 8,300 lbs, has a built in brake controller, haul mode and auto rear air leveler. We have been on two short trips about 150 miles each and have gotten about 11 mpg, no wdh and it has handled very well.

Camplite Travel Trailers / Walking on the roof
September 14, 2014, 10:15:25 PM
I have the 21bhs and also installed three MaxxAir vent covers. I walked on the roof to install and I did not have any problem, in fact I walk on the roof to clean it as well.

Although LL may not be at the show, I heard/read that one of their dealers would have some LL at the show. Let us know if you see any, enjoy!

Tow Rigs / Tow Vehicle problem solved

I got rid of the Ford Explorer and got a 2015 Chevy Tahoe 5.3L V-8 4x4 with max tow package, rated to tow 8,300 lbs. This should be the dream TV, once I am at 500 miles I will take the 21bhs out for a test pull and report back.

Ask the factory / Tire Issue
September 09, 2014, 10:36:22 PM
I went to check the air on one tire, before my first trip, and when i took the cap off the stem it started to leak air. Good thing I had an extra set of valve stems, a set of four and the removal tool from Walmart. It saved the day, lesson learned " be prepared".

My 21bhs is also a 2013 and the top and bottom bunk are sheet metal. It does sound like they covered to give a better finished look.

No, yours looks like it has an extra piece of sheet metal. Give it a try, just stand clear. You could always reinforce if it doesnt hold.

Be careful when you replace the struts with a bigger size(more weight capacity). I replace the strut on the bunk bed, which was a simple pop off, pop on, but the extra strength ripped the bracket off of the sheet metal (under the bunk). I had to put a piece of aluminum on a diagonal and then attach the bracket to that. Now it works fine.

Tow Rigs / New Jeep Cherokee with 21BHS
August 18, 2014, 10:38:22 PM
I'm looking to replace my Ford Explorer and have considered the Jeep Cherokee, I also have a 21bhs. It is interesting that it has a tow capacity of 6200 lbs with a v6, do you how they do that. My Explorer is only rated at 5000lbs. If you can provide any other info/experience that would be great. Also what is it rated for tongue weight.

Thanks

Ask the factory / Window locks problem
August 15, 2014, 11:14:50 PM
On my 2013 21 bhs I have push buttons on the non emergency windows. Push button in and then turn to open. Sometimes you have to wiggle a little to get the button to push in, but other than that they always open.
