Camplite Travel Trailers / water heater anode

This is correct. also, here is a picture.. the anode isn't dead until it looks like the top one..

"Making it better" seems to be a matter of opinion.

Many RV deadbolts will "walk" under steady vibration..

Camplite General Q & A / Fridge Temp
March 27, 2016, 01:01:32 PM
One thing that can be done is to use a small ice chest for drinks.. we found that kept us out of the fridge quite a bit. We make ice in the freezer to keep the ice chest topped off.

Edit: also we use a very efficient ice chest.

Quote from: @montedtrotter1" timestamp="1457313215" source="/post/19269/threadI think this is a Thor directive to keep CL from taking sales from Airstream.
Don't take this wrong.. but as a guy who runs in the Airstream world a bit. I can assure you from interactions with hundreds, if not thousands, of 'stream owners, CL is not on their radar. Whole different mindset and TT world view. While they are both "aluminum" trailers, they are substantially different, and have a completely different product and owner appeal.

Just to give you something to try.. the one way valve in the water pump is a pretty simple flapper, it can get stuck, or folded. many an owner has fixed this issue by disconnecting from the city water supply, turning on a tap, letting the pressure drop, then cycling the water pump a couple times, this will reset/realign the valve rubber. And if it works, which it should, you have a spare pump.. and didn't have to spend an hour on your knees replacing it.. :)

Camplite Travel Trailers / Disappointed

We have a friend with an Alto.. camped with them a couple times. I wouldn't have one for half the price. It's near impossible to cool, theirs at least, doesn't have a bathroom, just a porta-potty, has a weird IKEA kit furniture feel to it. And, you have to reconfigure the bed to bench to bed to bench to use either..
So I'm starting to wonder if some of us (like yours truly) who think we have a propane-only water heater might actually have a two-way one just without the old red inside switch for the electric element...  :-S     (Just like in the other thread where folks didn't know the windows have a secure ventilation feature).

Where exactly should we look for the outside switch??
Model number will tell you, but a picture is often needed, even if you know you have an electric WH, to find the switch ON the WH.. That said, I have picture, and will share it when photobucket gets it's head out of it's ...

BUT if you open the WH outside cover, look in the lower left corner area, BEHIND the propane burner tube, a small black on off switch.

In August of '13 when we toured the factory with the intent of ordering a 21RBS, they had 4-5 there, completed, they all had a 2-way. What they didn't have that was important to us, was the now standard shower skylight (but all the truck campers did..??). Very interesting company for sure.
I have nothing to add here except to say that I don't have the 2-way WH, have only used propane to heat water. We camped 20+ times over 2 seasons and have yet to exhaust the first of 2 full cans of propane provided by the dealer at the time of purchase !!

We've used the propane furnace, I think, twice for an aggregate 30 minutes time, and I vaguely remember using it to heat a can of soup that first weekend on the stove - I suppose I should check to see if the stove still works. One of these days.

In summation, "nyah nyah nyah !!!!"
Interesting.. the specs since I have been looking at them have always shown a 2-way WH, at least I think they did. Was yours special ordered?

I would hope the results of the poll about the cabinets would get shown to whoever made that decision.. 1 person, ONE, of owners and prospective owners, voted for those new cabinets and doors.
just so we're clear...the cabinet structure did not change, just the doors.
Just so we are clear, the construction of the doors, and the aviation style latches were a major selling point for us. I fully understand what can happen to wood in a trailer. I fully understand THIS bit of wood is not a real problem. Easily repaired if damaged in any way.

BUT.. it's a compounding of all the changes being reported since the sale and "no changes" claim by Thor, and the fact that we wanted the old doors and latches. We HAVE had cabinets empty during travel. New owners are literally reporting things like.. "Oh, it only has a single axle now??" The fact is, now, I could order one, and not know until the day it arrived, what it was REALLY configured like. and it would be configured however CL wants it to be, since customization, another reason we wanted a CL, is now also out the window.

The clear adapter piece is actually pretty handy. Interesting in a weird way. First time I saw one was at a rally, 7-8 guys standing around as someone dumped.. being a man, I had to go see what was up..

We had a pod owner forget they were using the BT flush, with dump valve closed..... until BW started running out of the vent and down the back of the trailer.. I don't have the built in flush, but use a flexible wand with a sprayer head on it, down through the toilet, at home, after most trips. I do some with valve closed, and open. When I have the valve closed, I use a timer function on my phone so as to not forget.. LOL

Camplite Travel Trailers / Real World Prices
January 06, 2016, 01:15:41 PM
I got a 2016 21BHS for $29,200 but I had to pay to ship at $1200.  I got at Sunny Island. Their advertised price was $30,900. I tried to buy from a local dealer in Denver but they could not match the price. I thought I got a good deal but based on other posts it sounds like you can get it a little cheaper.  One thing to beware of is many dealers say it's a 2016 but it's got the older decor.
Across all of RVdom.. model year, and design/color/option changes, are not the same thing and rarely happen at the same time.

Camplite Travel Trailers / Turning on hot water heater
January 05, 2016, 03:53:03 PM
On a side note.. I have left mine on in the driveway before for the whole season... my electric bill suffered no noticeable change. I didn't do it on purpose.
