Ceiling to wall

In the 21RBS there is a "channel" at the connection between the wall and ceiling. On the slide out side.   Is it just to cover the junction or is there  wiring, cables inside?  I want to  drill a couple holes for mounting a few items but fear drilling and taping into something.

[/quote]There is wiring inside. Are you wanting to drill into the channel, or into the wall?

TT I'm looking to drill into the channel.  I want to put a couple screws in it to attach a rod/hanger.  It appears to be non metal so that could be an issue the screws need to support 8 -12 lbs.

Hmmm... the channel I'm thinking of is definitely metal. Maybe we're talking about a different thing. Either way I'd try to avoid hanging anything from it.

Cant see how to upload pics so I hope this link works. The channel I want to drill two holes to put a hanger/bar runs from the cabinet above the bed toward the slideout.  It's maybe a couple inches wide. Left side between the window & slideout area.

[font size="3"]Your picture came through fine. That channel is just cosmetic. It hides a wire bundle and is made of very thin aluminum. It will not hold a lot of weight, but might hold a light rail for a light curtain. We have small hooks on it for light clothing like shirts, but not much else. The enclosed wire bundle is in wire molding so it's protected. If you're careful you could drill just until you broke through the surface and use small sheet metal screws, but it would be better to remove the channel so you could see exactly what was there. If you are planning a curtain rail it would be better to find and use an aluminum stud in the wall.

EDIT: On second thought, even if the curtain is light, if someone pulls on it the channel will break. Not a good idea.

Thanks Charlie.  That is close to my plan. Picture the privacy curtains they have in hospitals that run on a rail around the bed.   I have two teenage Grand-Daughters that dont like to see the old man in skivees.

[/p][p]Have you considered using an expandable shower curtain rod? I've used them and they work pretty good. If you use an opaque plastic shower curtain it will weigh next to nothing and wouldn't require you to exert too much spring pressure when installing. If you need to hang heavier loads you will probably need to utilize backing plates. Something like a freestanding 4" x 4" luan plywood backer plate to spread out the force being exerted on the wall. And, try and center the plates over the wall studs. One of the advantages of the shower rod is that an accident will simply pull down the rod and not harm the walls. I saw a 7 foot rod on Amazon "InterDesign Forma Shower Curtain Tension Rod, Brushed Stainless Steel, 50-87 Inch" I would post the link but I've been having trouble posting Amazon page links.   [/p]

Charlie I have a hard enough time with one trailer to back up...LOL

James that may work better. Just a "sleeper" curtain is fine.  Probably some light weight fabric, I dont think I would like the smell
of a plastic shower curtain.
