Mounting a mirror on bathroom door/other screwless mounts?

All:

Somewhere I had seen someone had mounted a full length mirror on their bathroom door, something we're thinking of doing as well.  I'm wondering how to do this though without screw holes and the general question of mounting things on the adzel without screw holes.   What if anything are you all doing to accomplish this?

My thought on the mirror is that a 15"x48" plastic mirror would weigh 1 lb and could potentially be mounted with double sided tape...  Mounting holders, etc in the cabinets is the other thing I'm thinking of.

I mounted a mirror about the same size on the bath door of a 21RBS. The mirror measures approx. 14"x50" made of thin glass with a wooden/plastic frame. I hung the mirror over the door with the supplied metal brackets that I reformed to fit the top of the door. It does not interfere with the door closing. The sides and bottom are attached to the door with adhesive Velcro. The brackets hold the weight; the Velcro strips just keep it secured to the door.  The mirror is offset to the left to clear the door latch. Works great.

We bought a plastic mirror from Home Depot and cut it to fit on the backside of the door.  While it is not optically perfect, it works well especially if you are looking straight on and not at an angle.  Mounted with 12 command strips - the rigidness of the door panel really helps make this work!
Only if they share the load equally. Best to use three and support 10#.

I did not know there were 5 lb strips....the large I thought could hold 2 lbs each which is what we used.  Remember that while driving bounces in the road will temporarily make mounted objects heavier so we have 24 lbs of support for a 2 lb mirror - hopefully overkill!

My wife had this over the door she used it for jewelry but when I sell the place  I was thinking of using it as a medicine/bathroom cabinet.  I would take it down to lie flat during travel.  Empty it weighs 12 lbs. Meds, soap, etc shoudlnt add more then ten pounds.   I'd rather use Command strips rather then screwed to a wall.

Given the weight and the dynamic environment of a moving camper I think you'd be asking for trouble with command strips. I trust command strips to hold light things, but weighty things need mechanical support. Command strips have trouble adhering to certain wall surfaces and you don't know it until something falls. And even if the strips adhere to the surface they may pull the surface material off the backing. With all the aluminum in the CL walls it's not hard to find a place for screws.

In my case the mirror/cabinet wont be  attached while  moving.     It will be stowed in the space under the couch when traveling.

Charliem -- Where did you buy your mirror and the brackets on which it hangs?  It's exactly what I want.

Our local Home Depot sells one, but only with a white frame (I like the black better) and with no brackets.

Oh, and the light too.  Nice addition.  Where did you get it?

Thanks!

The mirror came from Wally World, Sam's, Lowes. HD or somewhere like that. Those stores constantly change their products depending on what's on the China boat this week. It did come with over-the-door brackets that I modified to fit. Can't help more.

The light bar is: [a href="http://www.amazon.com/LED-Bar-Light-Pivoting-convenience/dp/B007V627W0/ref=pd_sim_hi_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0ZX5DNHYEYG48SRTBQV1"]http://www.amazon.com/LED-Bar-Light-Pivoting-convenience/dp/B007V627W0/ref=pd_sim_hi_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=0ZX5DNHYEYG48SRTBQV1[/a] but others are available. It's available in daylight or warm white. I tapped into the bathroom light switch in the wall for plus 12V and picked up the negative 12V from the frame above the door.

Are youse guys goin' to the prom or what? Full length mirror???

If you ever camp where there are ticks, you'll realize right away the value of a full-length mirror and a good light to find the little %^$#. This is a 'top of the list" mod for me.
