New 28bhs propane tank cover

My new 28bhs has a propane tank cover with two screws. The front screw is no problem but the back one is almost impossible to get to. To me it seams like they installed the battery tray to close.

Any suggestions on an easy fix? It's problematic when at the propane filling station to have to get my drill out...

It's hard to be sure at this distance, but it looks like there is plenty of room to move the battery case back. The tray is just attached with sheet metal screws. Remove the battery and remount the tray slightly rearward. Will this work??

Black ? I thought one of the reasons they make propane tanks white, and the covers white, is to keep them cooler in the sun...

It's problematic when at the propane filling station to have to get my drill out...[/quote]Not to resurrect this but has anyone considered using some 5" long bolts with lock washers and wing nuts then drilling through the full 4" beam to secure these tank covers? I don't have an issue with taking mine off but eventually constantly taking the self tapping screws in and out may loosen the threading. Plus it's just a pain in the rear.

Good thought. I knew someone with brains had this worked out a long time ago  even have the bungi cords at home but never thought of using them for this application.
