Does anyone know if the truck is supposed to charge the on board battery in the TC while traveling? Does anyone have a clue?

DH says it's hot at the 7 way plug.... does that help?  It's even hot truck is turned off.  8-|

Yes, it should. Some trucks need to have a fuse or relay installed to enable the charge line though.

[font size="3"][font face="arial"]Can't say if it's "supposed" to charge, but the important thing is it "can" charge. It depends on how the TC is installed and wired. If you have a separate house battery, either in the TC or separate in the truck, it can be charged from the truck when running. It requires an "isolator" or relay to isolate the starting battery when the engine is off. This results in a separate heavy gauge wire running from the truck electrical system to the TC battery that is connected to the charging system only when the engine is running. Check with an electrical buddy or RV shop for help.

Quick note about our TC not charging.  Yesterday DH was nosing around under sink area and found a fuse. It was not in the fuse box though.  Hmmm...15amp fuse that was blown. Today he replaced fuse and tested it on truck and now it's charging battery. Another question....should there be an isolater in there some place?

If that's not the case (the 7-way connector load wire is live even when the truck is off) then there are a few different aftermarket products you can buy.

Pin 4 on the Bargman 7way connector is the 12V charging circuit that should be hot when the engine is running, but should not be when the engine is off. You can test this with a voltmeter.

Holy crap! For the last month, I have not been able to get 12v power from the truck to the camper battery. I have tested just about everything and anything where there should be 12v charging power while driving, and found no blown fuses on the main fuse box in the livin lite 10'. I replaced the relay from the truck, which was cheap, and had plenty of power coming from the F250, but nothing going into the battery. I just saw this post, and checked under my sink. Voila!!!!! A blown fuse, under the sink....little blue box.....sticking out of an opening, not where the electrical wiring was located? Anyway, I will replace the 15 amp fuse in the morning, and see what happens. If this works, then lap 527 should be put into the truck camper repair hall of fame, and Thor or Livin lite should perhaps mention this in their manuals.[img title=":D" style=":D" src="//images.forums.net/f/smiley/grin.png"]
