Short weekend trip with lots of problems

Had a overall good weekend camping in my toyhauler. Weather turned out to be great and all seemed very good. That until we filled our grey water tank and discovered some shoddy construction on our trailer. Firstly I hate the 13 gallon grey and black water tanks on my trailer and if I had known what I do now I may not have gone with it but thats on me. This was only our 4th trip out and 2nd using the water just as a disclaimer. Anyways after showering and filling up our grey water tank I discovered water dripping all over the ground from under my trailer. After finally taking off the cover to get under my shower to look underneath I noticed that the builders of my unite shoddily cut into the styrofoam that is under the shower drain and put gobs of caulking around the black fitting that connects to the white pvc elbow. They did this because it looked like the white pvc pipe was bigger so the water would drain down and land on top of the pipe and drip out so instead of fixing it they just cut a whole underneath and put a bunch of caulking around it. This was a bandaid job. So now I am going to call some rv places and plumbers to see which would be best to have it fixed. I still have an outdoor porch light that doesn't work. I have fixed a hot water heater leak twice now. There are screws missing or broke off in places. I found another screw that was about ready to fall out under my trailer. I know I may be in the minority but the quality control definitely seems to be lacking at livin lite or atleast on whoever built my trailer. I am pretty upset about it and may end up selling it. If this trailer had wood floors I would probably be screwed with the 3 leaks I have found already. Sorry for the downer post but need to vent. I expect better quality control for a 20k+ trailer.

Sorry to hear about these problems. Won't Livin Lite take responsibility for the gray tank?

Its not the grey tank its the way they patched together the plumbing. I assume they had it all done and realized they messed up so instead of taking it apart and redoing the drain plumbing in the shower they cut around it and removed styrofoam which is what is under the shower and put gobs of caulking to stop it from leaking. It was a lazy band-aid fix. I will call them tomorrow to see what they say. I don't even know if the cover on the side of my shower is supposed to be there or if they just decided to cut the hole for the wall and then had to put a cover down there to make it look passable. I will find out I guess.

Hello Brandonboss,

I may have spoken to you today.  If that was you, as I mentioned.... I would be happy to help you but the warranty only applies to the original owner.  The opening on the side of the wet bath is for access to the lower plumbing.
It is on all 6x15's.  We do not apply caulking to the base of the wet-bath pan.  It is possible the original owner or the dealer you purchased the unit from did some repairs. I would have your dealer repair this.

The caulking isn't on the pan its on the exterior of the black drain fitting and white pvc fitting. Rv is in the shop today. Will report back after they give me their assessment.

Just got it back from the rv shop. They fixed the shower drain leak. The drain needed recaulked. I took it home and poured about 4 gallons of water down it and everything seemed good. At first anyways. Then it started leaking water from under the trailer again. I had my wife look under it while I poured again and the drain was fine and I said let me try pouring some water up by the toilet. Once I started she yelled out its pouring everywhere (its a wet bath so everything in there should be caulked and sealed). There was no sealant or caulking put around the base of the toilet and I hadn't noticed. So needless to say I need to caulk around the toilet and I am going to caulk all the seems again. I hope that those are the last leaks I have to fix as that will be number 3 on this 2015 trailer. Not thrilled about that. I also have to take it back to the shop to get a new led outdoor light because mine hasn't worked since I had it delivered. Once all of those things are done it should be good to go. Hopefully.
