Water tank accumulator

Has anyone done the water tank accumulator mod?  It would be nice to even out the 12v pump flow and it's a pretty easy job.  I'd do it but I can't find a good space to mount the thing.

I plan to do it when I upgrade to a tankless water heater.  Will pay someone to do it. The Atwood engineer I talked to recommended the Shurflow brand as the way to go.
