Windows not staying open

When I open the window above the couch on the 2014 16 DBS, the window will stay wide open.  When I open the windows on both sides of the bed, the window stays open only a few inches.  I can't push it out and have the window stay open.  I thought there was a mechanism that allows the window to stay wide open.  

Any helpful ideas???

There's a mechanism in the strut that's supposed to "click" at certain locations. Do you hear any clicking when you open it, or is it silent? I've got one pesky window with a broken "clicker" and haven't had a chance to open it up yet to see what's going on. When I do, I'll reporting back with my findings. I believe I've heard others with this same issue that were able to fix it, though I don't remember how.

Karen's been resorting to a plastic wine cup to prop the kitchen window open.

Had it replaced once under warranty, but out of warrant now.

Same problem here with one of the front windows. All in favor of tinkeringtechie taking his apart and figuring it out say "Aye".

I'm scrunching up my eyebrows and letting my eyeballs roll back inside my head, kinda like I'm hanging upside-down from my feet waiting for the abominable snowman to come eat me and while I'm doing this I push the window open a little and then let it come back and sometimes it stays in place but if it doesn't I just push again trying to go juuuuuuuust a little bit farther than the last time before letting it back as though its going to click even though it never clicks but sometimes stays held open and if that doesn't work then I push again juuuuuuuust a little bit farther and if you do this just right and your midichlorians are awake and stuff it will stay open. [/p][p]Then you sit down and tell Mrs. P to keep her mitts off it even if she's cold because you just got it to stay open, and you sit down in your chair in the shade, or by the fire - this part is pretty much situational - and then you pour yourself a healthy wallup of Man's Best Friend (what the Scots call whiskey) because nothing recharges your midichlorians quite like whiskey.[/p][p]

I'm taking my Camplite back to my dealer while it is still on warranty. I have 2 windows that will not stay open.

If tt comes up with a simple solution in the meantime... if not, I will let you know what my dealer does.

[font size="3"]The windows must be fully closed (not latched) to reset the clicky things. If you go too far past the lock points you will have to close the window and try again. You have to listen carefully for the clicks when you open the window. The technical term is "finicky", but some just call it a royal PITA. After T. Techie finishes his disassembly we may find a breath of WD40 helps. The good news is the struts are easily replace if necessary.

Have the same problem with our window above the sink. Resorted to popping it all the way out and resetting the rod back in the tube. Have not tried any of the other windows yet. I vote Aye.

Has anyone actually taken the struts apart? From day one, mine have never work right.

On mine the clicks are pretty subtle but they are there, the key seems to be going just past the click and then coming back softly.

There's no consistency with the way mine work, tried every which way possible. The window over the sink will only open about 4 - 6 inches. Really not impressed with the windows.
