I've lusted over that countertop in a past picture you posted but never witnessed the entirety of the surfaces. Quite remarkable, Bob. A very impressive design!

I finally replace the stock sink this weekend with the Elkay sink described in this thread. I'm still waiting for the longer screws to come in to secure the sink, but so far it looks great.

I had to replace the P trap since I cut things in the wrong spot, but another trip to the store got me past that.

Once I get the screws in, I'll button everything up and snap a picture to share.

Oh and I reused the original faucet since it works just fine.

All in all, simple but very useful update that makes the wife happy!

Thanks for those that blazed the trail making the update easier for the rest of us.

[font size="3"]Which Elkay did you use? There have been two Elkays used on this forum.

Here is the picture of the upgraded countertop and sink/faucet combination that LL provided in our custom 21BHS as a factory installed option for everyone's info and future reference.

I went with the Elkay
Elkay PSR15173 Gourmet Pacemaker Sink, Stainless Steel. Gives me enough depth and adds to the width just enough to make a difference.

I was told recently that solid surface counters will be standard on new models.  We will see if that proves true.  I certainly hope it is.

I wanted to update our experience with the faucet - we had put in a Dura Faucet DF-NMK861-SN and while it performed well it had three flaws - first the handle would open during driving, second the spray switch always reverted to spray when turned off and finally it was rated at 2.2 gpm - most of which needs to be going to get the spray to work.

This was a pretty expensive mistake for us - we ended up installing a Delta 9178-AR-DST - a 1.8 gpm faucet, the spray/stream switch remains in its last position and the spray is usable at very low flow rates.  The connectors are 3/8" pex instead of the 1/2" so I had to replace the ends in the trailer with sharkbite 1/2" to 3/8" valves - which allowed me to even further restrict the flow!

Do you think this would work to replace the plastic one? Will the regular rv kitchen sink faucet with hot and cold work? the holes just look to close together. It is an Elkay.
Thanks

[font size="3"]First look says it's too big in both dimensions, and the bowl is not as deep as you could go. The Elkay 17x20 is as big as you can go without extreme measures. This is the one I used and it took lots of cutting.

It's also 7+ inches deep which is great for keeping the splash down. The standard two handle RV faucet requires 8" hole spacing. Your picture looks like 4". Most folks who have made the sink upgrade have gone to a single handle faucet. It requires only one hole. we have added soap dispensers and/or drinking water filter faucets. These sinks can be ordered with from 1 to 4 holes so you can pick what you want. Check the rest of the threads on this subject for ideas.

Wow that looks great! love that there is no edge to wipe around the sink. Saving the pic for when I take the plunge and get it changed out.
