Really sad to see this forum ending.   I have learned so much.... and had some good laughs.   I ended up going the Class C  route....a Dynamax Isata 3..... and I can attest that quality construction is absent on $90,000 rigs. We enjoy it, but fewer trips to the dealer service department would have been nice.  But all the info on black tanks, leveling (a really complex process with a Class C without automatic levelers), electrical, appliances, the list goes on, has been really helpful.     (not to worry; I have plenty of 'tow vehicle')    Thanks to everyone who contributed to this wonderful site.   Please check out the state parks in Mn.... we have some truly lovely campgrounds.  And Anoka County, north of the Twin Cities, has really nice campgrounds.   (don't tell anyone else)    Tare care, and to para-phrase European travel guru Rick Steves, Keep on Camping.  

Thanks everyone.   I went on Battery Tender's site, and when I indicated on their search option what I needed a maintainer for, they recommended a number of units but not this one.    But then I noticed that  they have a Chat option.   Low and behold, they responded quickly and confirmed that this unit would work for my specific application.    That level of customer service  just increases my confidence in this company.   I will make my purchase as soon as the sale price kicks in.  It is beautiful here in Mn. today; lots of quiet, beautiful camp sites within an hour's drive  but my unit is in storage till spring.   Can't wait to take it out again.  

On one of our early trips, we were leaving the campground in the dark.   I was worried about getting everything on the checklist completed AND not disturbing other campers.  Fortunately, our site was pretty far from other campers, and in a heavily wooded area  that I hoped would block our lights from hitting other sites.    As I was about to pull out,  my wife, bless her heart, calmly asked me "isn't the awning supposed to be in" ?   Another few feet, and a large tree would have had an awning stuck in it's branches.   "Retract awning' was on the list but I had overlooked it.  Never happened again.  Knock on wood.

I will be storing two AGM batteries for the next five months.  I had been looking at this and other chargers, and I see that Costco will have this unit on sale later this month for $29.99.   I can purchase two, one for each battery, and be within my budget.   Battery Tender makes a two bank version that costs more than two of these.   Any thoughts?  Thanks.

T@B and Little Guy trailers have some really nice outside kitchens; too bad the trailers are so small.  Several members have posted ideas about adding outdoor kitchens to their CL.  If your have one with the pass-through storage, with the tray that slides out,  I think  you could modify it fairly easily into a pretty nice kitchen work area.    If enough folks express interest in them, I am sure LL will start offering them.   Perhaps it is already in the works; curious to see how LL responds.  

My wife and I plan on visiting Prince Edward Island this summer.  We will be coming up from Minnesota.  I was hoping the folks from Canada might offer some suggestions for sights to see, parks to stay at, etc.    We plan on purchasing a national park pass, if non-citizens can.  Any preferences regarding  Hwy. 11 or 101 for the first leg of our journey: drivability, scenic views, interesting small towns ( I love visiting them; always looking for small bakeries and non-chain diners)  and historic sites?

The insurance rates from Good Sam seem quite good,and full replacement coverage doesn't cost much to add;  almost too good to be true.    Has anyone ever made a claim with Good Sam insurance?  Any other suggestions for RV insurance?  Thanks.

Congratulations!  I am envious.  I love Minnesota, but not so much in January.   Florida in the winter sounds really nice.   Safe travels.
