My wife and I just ordered a 21BHS through Sunny Island RV in Illinois! Upgrading from an Aliner Expedition after a couple of great years of camping and very excited to join this forum! Any fellow Olympic Peninsula camplite owners around?

Welcome and congrats! Another new guy here, also. We pick up our 21RBS on the 30th..

Welcome to the forum! We're a bit further north of the peninsula (almost to Canada). Good choice of floorplan too, 21BHS is definitely the best  :D

Welcome from another owner of a 21-BHS. My husband and I got this model so that our dogs could have their own beds with their own window in the lower bunk. We really enjoy the extra room and the bonus storage area of the upper bunk. When going down the road, we move our stored stuff down to the lower bunk.

Happy camping with your new camper!

Yeah. The dogs will stay on their own bed. They won't think of jumping up on yours.

That will totally work out.

Thanks for the welcome and looking forward to the elbow room for dogs and children, both of which will totally respect mom and dads bed I'm sure! Btw, Is anyone not using a WDH when towing? I've read a lot of threads about the anderson WDH and some folks who have towed without them fine, but appear to always end up installing one anyway. Any experienes with the 21-BHS scaring anyone into buying a WDH? My TV is a 1500 silverado with an airlift system installed.

Boondockler,

Have you ever towed a TT of this size?? If not, do you have a friend who owns a TT that is equipped with a WDH?? If so, go for a test drive on the highway with and without using the WDH. And it would be a much more definitive test if there was a crosswind blowing during your test drive. There's no substitute for real time experience.  If you do decide to use a WDH then see charliem's thread on "Bent Coupler on 21RBS", this is a must read article.

I ended up adding it and never regretted it. Now I tow the 21RBS with a Tacoma and wouldn't be without the WDH. I think TechnTrek on the Rpod Owners forum said it best: You may not need it, but you'll want it. It just makes a huge difference on ride and comfort.

Agree 100%.  My Ram 1500 tows the 21BHS great without a WDH.  However, on our trip to AZ and UT, the added stability  along with the sway and bounce control of the Andersen WDH was very much appreciated on the rough roads of I-10 in LA, and 35MPH crosswinds in Texas.
