How are Camplites insulated?

[p]I was pondering a question posed on another thread relative to how robust the Camplite construction is and can it stand up to forest service roads. It got me thinking about insulation between the Azdel panels and the aluminum skin. Is it:[/p][p]
[/p][p]* Fiberglass batts?[/p][p]* Foam panels?[/p][p]* Spray foamed in place. And if so does it fully fill the void between the Azdel and skin.[/p][p]
[/p][p]The latter would make the Camplite very strong; essentially a composite structure like a surfboard.[/p][p]
[/p][p]So does anyone know?[/p][p]

We visited the factory and saw the insulation. It's foam panels sandwiched very tightly between the inside and outside surfaces and at least the ceiling insulation is glued in. Don't know about the the wall insulation. I just measured the ceiling insulation (I have the speakers out to replace them) and it's 2-1/14 inch. The wall are 1 inch foam.

Merlin, thanks.

That type of construction won't act like a composite structure. You will only have the additive strength of the three components: skin, studs and Azdel. But they won't act together as a composite.

Polystyrene foam, the most common rigid board has an R value of 4-5 per inch. So the walls will be about 5, the ceiling about 10 and the floor, well near zero with no other floor covering than the aluminum panels.

I was curious about that also. You can tell from the outside the aluminum skin isn't glued to the foam insulation. as far as the Adzel to the foam I don't think it would add much integrity without the outside skin being glued to it also.  Aluminum being so thin I don't know how much it would add. Conversely a 1/8" fiberglass outer panel would probably add a lot of integrity and why they are composites. You can get a good side view of the construction by taking one of the refrigerator panels off and looking at it. My memory is so bad I can't remember exactly what I saw when I did this. Kind of maybe looked like it was all bonded or melted together somehow. But that is probably necessary wherever you have openings like that.

Aluminum is an excellent conductor of heat.

That makes it also an excellent conductor of cold.
Only takes one time of walking on that bare aluminum floor on a cold night to figure that out.  I cut some Styrofoam panels close enough to size that I was able to stick them up against the walls  and tailgate without any type of fasteners. In my 20x7 vrv.  Also covered the floor with Owens Corning FOAMULAR http://www.homedepot.com/b/Building-Materials-Insulation-Rigid-Insulation/N-5yc1vZbaxx and carpeted over that. Mostly used that as opposed to styro cause styro compresses from foot traffic much more easily. So no more cold feet. The front of my unit is storage and plumbing and what not. There was no insulation between the interior and the storage compartment but it was easy to add. Again cutting the panels to fit tightly didn't even need to hold them in place with anything. Might of added a couple of pieces of tape for good measure.

These were taken at the factory in March 2014 and shows the frame, sidewall and roof.

If I knew how to use Pinterest it would be even more helpful.  The picture size limitation on this board makes it difficult to attach pictures.  Any suggestions?
Depends on your computer. If you have windows load ms-paint or "paint". Comes with windows 7 assume as much with 8.  Their is an option to "re-size".  I usually select "33" which reduces the photos size by 66% I suspect.  I also have a program that will covert to different formats gif, jpeg, tiff, etc. In that process they give you an option to decide how much compression you want. So by the time I upload my photos they are usually less than 100k. The program I use is acdsee.  I bought the program in 1995 before they planed obsolescence into software and made it more like a service which needs re-uping every 6 months.  I see their still around though. 24.95 for their photo package.  I use it more for a viewer than anything. The program that comes with windows for that purpose really sucks. Feel sorry for people that use it.
Certainty looks like it's glued to me. But when I go outside and press on the panels they move slightly independently of the insulation and Adzel.

Thanks Antares 4141.  I never used Paint to resize but it worked great.

Here are 3 of the pictures.   Also uploaded to the Pinterest Board.
