SAY IT AIN'T SO.! Toy hauler cargo doors made with WOOD????

UPDATE for all who haven't asked:  We are still waiting to take full delivery of our 'Axx'.  The dealer finally received the replacement refrigerator and changed it out promptly.  But since there was a wait involved for this fix, we had time to visit the Tampa RV show.  While there at Livin Lite's booth, we saw a new toy hauler, an Axxess, but with a different trim level...more wood.  It was dubbed across its exterior walls - 'IGNITE'!  (Get it?  More wood.... 'ignite'???)  Oh, come on, that there is funny...seems LL might have a sense of humor!  But I digress.  This toy hauler's cargo door had been converted to a patio deck which greatly expanded the unit's overall living space, not only opening up additional square footage, but also an abundance of natural light, blue skies and fresh air.  Uhhhhhhhhh....now that's why we paid the big bucks, don't you know!

Shortly thereafter while still at the show, we had the pleasure of bumping into LL's Pres., Scott Tuttle, while we munched on an overpriced sausage dog, fries and iced tea. He was very warm and a courteous young man, though our mouths were full, and did consent to a 'selfie' with us.  We told him it might end up posted on this forum where Livin Lite's 'aluminatti' (aka, fan club) frequented.   He sent his warm regards to you each and it brought a big smile to his face to know you are there.  As to posting our selfie with Mr. Tuttle, we're not sure if we should, with privacy protection concerns, etc., knowing how things on the world wide web can come back to 'bite'.  Besides, I don't want to risk having Pinstriper calculate this passenger's BMI for possible TV payload overload and fiery death crash potentialities.  :)

As to the cargo door/patio conversion on the 'Ignite', Mr. Tuttle told us it was simple and our dealer could retro-fit it easily.  The dealer is working on it right now admitting this is new to them.  So, on a different 'Subject' thread we started, "'Say it ain't so...wood in the cargo door?" (or something like this), you may recall our upset in discovering wood in Livin Lite's toy hauler cargo doors feeling that we were misled by LLite's 'no wood' claims.  This discovery almost stopped our purchase, but since that time, we've decided to make 'lemonade out of lemons'.   Instead of viewing our unit as a 'lemon' because of perceived 'false advertising', we've opted to retro-fit the cargo door so that we can sip ice-cold lemonade while lounging on the 'wood deck', that is, whenever we finally take delivery of the 'Axx'!  Come join us if you can...lemonade and/or root-beer floats for all LL friends.  'Til then, God bless you each, stay warm, encouraged and looking up!

P.S.  Almost forgot, we're also installing an electric jack.

I would love to join a gatering sometime but this one I can't because of the date (my LL in storage) and the distance (2340 km), according to google map it's 22:40 hour from me. I hope that sometime there is one in the East Coast not too far from where I am (live in New Brunswick)!

[/quote]Scott Tuttle chuckled and smiled broadly when he heard us all referred to as 'Aluminatti'!  It was for the 'Aluminatti' that he posed for the 'selfie'.  We will look into Table Rock, we love SC.

Paul,
We feel your pain.  Distance is a problem for us too.  Suggestion: Choose a place you enjoy and would be going to anyway.  Then invite us and you never who will come!  Even if no one can make it....you were going anyway and will have a grand time.  Your invitation need not be exclusively LL.  Also, consider 'crashing' other events like the several held by 'Streamers' (Airstream owners) upcoming this year; big one is in Ohio around May, I think?  We're thinking about 'crashing' the A'stream event in Sarasota next month, though not sure 'crashing' is the best term to use here (Pinstriper would know why).  Anyway, A'stream does all the footwork, we come in (paying, of course), sit back and 'Livin Learn' from folks who have been doing this a long time, who also share with us an odd affinity for aluminum!

Then there are the 'Tear Drop' events that our smallest, cute LL CampLites might find room around the campfire.  'Tear Drop' trailers started our interest in RV's, and still love these little guys.  But they have little to nothing going on in the Southeast....only up north, like Indiana or Michigan as I recall, and always in the Fall. They look like a fun crowd and even have an on-line magazine with cool ideas that 'Aluminatti' might find fun and helpful.

"Build it and they will come!"  :)  In the meantime, stay warm!

I will attend if someone is willing to make one of those lifesized cardboard figres and park "me" in in a comfy camp chair. Otherwise too far.
