Who all has USB outlets in their QS6, QS8 or QS10?   According to the LivinLite QS6 standard options I'm supposed to have one, but I don't.

I wonder how difficult it would be to add one?

Thanks,
John

Hi, I have in my camplite a "Charging station" It has USB and 12V lighter plugs it came like that from the factory

This was a new option starting this year. Chances are they added it shortly after yours was built.

Thanks,
John

I checked it out when they first came out (I don't have one) and wasn't that impressed once I saw it since they install it right next to the stove on the 21BHS  >:(
Here's the manufacturer:

It appears that they sell to OEM's only, but LivinLite might be able to sell you one.

That looks pretty nice.

With my new power converter, I have a few extra 12VDC circuits and I plan to install this:

It should be pretty easy to do yourself if you have a circuit available.  He other option would be to get a 12VDC multiport adapter and install a USB adapter in one, along the lines of these:

Thanks for the photo tinkeringtechie.  I might reach out to LivinLite directly and see if they would be willing to sell me a "charging station".  Would be nice if LivinLite would sell all their RV accessories directly from their website like some manufacturers do.

Thanks for the additional links subaruwx.  I like the Blue Sea Systems Dual USB Charger Socket.  Very clean design and I do have extra 12v circuits available.

Just found this dual USB charger plus voltmeter.  I've got an 12V 80AH battery on the front of my QS6.  Could be nice to always know how much battery life I've got left.

I like that one even better! New item for my wish list.

Thoughts for USB in QSx:

[ol type="decimal"][li]Consider this alternate multi-use panel. It adds a 12V socket to the USB and voltmeter functions.  [a href="http://www.amazon.com/Digital-Voltmeter-DC12V-Power-Socket/dp/B00MODXVO8/ref=pd_sim_sbs_misc_5/189-9222582-8784212?ie=UTF8&refRID=07Q8D5T85YD8E1DFD26Q"]LINK[/a] [/li][li]Wire the panel directly to an an unused fuse slot on the power panel with #12 AWG wire. Do not connect to existing 12V wiring. The reason for this is to minimize voltage drop and to provide measurement of the battery as directly and accurately as possible.[/li][li]Qs6 and Subaruwx : Good finds and good luck. I'm a big fan of BlueSea products. Got lots of them in my 21RBS.

You may also think about putting an in line momentary switch for the voltmeter. Maybe its just me but I wouldn't need or want the meter on all the time.

-Sean
I was thinking the same thing. Even the USB chargers have a constant draw when not in use. I prefer to use regular 12V sockets and just plug in a USB charger. That way I can remove it so there isn't any current draw. The Blue Sea USB charger for example uses 15mA even when nothing is plugged in. Not a huge deal, but I would expect the other brands to be as bad or worse.

I didn't know that - I assumed nothing connected to the USB would draw no amps. I might have to read up on 12VDC switches...  Any good references?

Tedious, but informative.[/p][p]
