faucet replacement

Hello,

I installed electric pump in my 2008 QS8 and this works very well except I do not like the factory push-type faucet (that never worked well as a pump anyway). 

Has anyone found good replacement for the faucet? Preferably one that would at least cover the hole in the sink left after I remove the original faucet.

There isn't much room in the original location for a different faucet. I used the leisure product replacement faucet but I had to mover it to the other side. I planned to just pop rivet a cover over the original hole left behind. However I ended up just removing and replacing the entire counter top. I moved away from having the sink all together. It was practical enough for real use. Plus anything we would use the sink for we could simply use a wash tub and then dump the water when done.

What electric pump did you use? Did you also fit a pressure regulator for external hookups?

It really make the faucet useful and practical. I never used the city water ever, so I actually disabled this completely.

It is not needed, but it should make the pump work less.

I am going to "steal" Sean's idea and redo the system so that the water tank will stay outside. It is just much more convenient this way.

The only real problem with this system is the horrible push faucet. There is no way to adjust the water stream, it is binary and too strong. There is one member here that posted a very nice faucet he got from home depot but it does not seem to be sold anymore.

Sean's system with outside shower is very nice but I do not believe I would use it often. I just want to use the inside sink and faucet to do some simple dishes, wash hands etc. I found it VERY useful for this. The original hand pump was useless indeed.

If I understood correctly, your pump is constantly "hot" but only operates
on demand?

Thanks a lot! that was really helpful.

I'll stick with the inside holding tank for now, but depending on how we actually do off-grid, undeveloped camping,
I may convert / splice in an external tank. It would seem to me that we wouldn't want to be hauling around enough
water for showering, etc. when roughing it, and when using developed park camp sites, there's very often a shower
facility so the external outlet may be a Catch 22 for *OUR* camping style.. we'll work it out as we gain experience.

Mike, the reason for moving the tank externally - convenience. I will use the same tank but setting it up under the sink is a major inconvenience even more so if the camper is all set and you run out of water.

Plus with an external tank the system is expandable. Instead of a single tank you could easily use a larger container. You could also parallel multiple smaller tanks if easier for your needs as well.
