Hi all, after only two camping weekends, my girlfriend wants to change our recently bought QS10 for a travel trailer because of the lack of storage and organization. We have two kids, so we need space for extra clothes and food. Do you guys have ideas for better storage solutions or pictures of your setup?

I like our QS and I don't want to change it!

Thanks a lot!

Don't have any pictures of packed camper. However most of my gear is stored in the back of the van and the rear part of the camper. The rear part of camper has lots of room for gear. I have a family of four and sometimes my mom comes along. I could see things being tight if your tow vehicle doesn't have a lot of cargo area.

Replace your dinette seats with Plano 56 quart Sportsman tubs. 3 tubs are the exact same dimensions as one dinette seat.

Then buy 3 more that you can store in the walkway next to the dinette when traveling. Those three  can be stored outside of the camper  when you are set up .

The lids for the tub have a lip in the exact position that you need to set the table down into for traveling and using the bed.

Then when you get home you can pull all of your tubs out and store them separately from the trailer so you can unpack later  or pack your entire trailer before you even have to open it up.

I will try to remember to post pictures of mine to show you what I'm talking about. I have a family of 4 and three of the bins are completely dedicated to our clothes storage for a 5 day trip.

sandyu

Oh yea, I forgot, get rid of table and benches. I took those out day one. That will solve your packing problem.

Hughes is correct.

Thank you for your replies. I have enough cargo space in the van. The problem is more on site. How do you store all your stuff so it won't be messy after 5 minutes?

qccamper

Someone uses plastic drawer organizers?

I'm about to go out for a trip I'll take some pics. The storage options are endless and if you get into a groove you'll see that it had more than enough space. In my case I use the car as a dresser which keeps the majority of our mess out of the way.

These are awesome ideas. Can I ask do the storage totes work as seats with the table raised? And do the provided bench cushions fit? (Was thinking about using Velcro to keep them in place). Thanks!

khughes222

Yes, they act as seats just like the original dinette. They are very strong.

The cushions go right on top. We don't use velcro, instead we used the no-slide mat that you typically buy for a silverware drawer. Just throw it down between the bin and cushion at it will go nowhere.

jammydee

Thanks! We pick up our 10.0 next weekend. Ordered 3 of the totes for starters, as we're going to attempt to fit everything in the benches (we plan on camping light, more like tent camping).

I built a pvc stand for this over the AC.  It works great.

this is an awesome thread. Great ideas!

it's just the wife and I. Our sink is pretty well packed, mostly kitchen/eating stuff and bathroom supplies. The long bench has been for things we need to get to easily and for setting up: broom, dustpan, propane bottles, space heaters, extension cords, fans, tools.

We really need to organize the dinette bench storage. We still have the awning and some other space eaters in there. What goes inside those has been: bedding stuffs, games, and misc.

I'vebeen using the heavy duty plastic tubs from Lowes and Home depot...the ones with the yellow lids. Those go from the garage to the truck: cooking supplies, dry goods, bedding. Eventually I'd like to have our camp chairs, and some clothes in those too, for short weekend trips.
