Won't those of us with double axles on our trailers fare better than the single-axle trailers? The example in the video was on a single axle. Would we be better off with braking and slowing if this happens with the double axle?

Funpilot, does your Trailmanor have a double axle?

If you lost a tire on the trailer just take your foot off the gas and pull over. Hitting the brakes hard would be problematic because you'd have one braking wheel on one side, and two on the other causing the trailer to want to rotate.

If you lost a tire on the tow vehicle I'd use the manual lever on the brake controller to slow the whole rig. That will keep things straight and reduce the chance of jackknifing.

Trailmanor only has a single axle.  I have installed a TPMS system.

I saw this yesterday on a local news website.  The driver should have watched that video.  He was probably going too fast.

I was behind a large station wagon pulling a pop up camper(in 1971) halfway between the bottom of Saginaw Bay & Mackinaw, Mi.  The camper had a blow out, went shooting off to one side of the road and then the driver had a hard time getting stopped without jack knifing.  I stopped and changed the tire for the guy.  He couldn't stop shaking and his kids couldn't stop screaming and crying.  It was very intense.
