Hi all - just completed a 8200mi first trip with my 8.0 (New Jersey to Utah, NM, Az, Co). Not too many problems to report. Satisfied with camper even though no air conditioning and lots of stops for ice. Saw one QS10 during entire trip and many other types of small interesting campers. Problems included;
1) Main Biminy pole unscrewed from camper side but was able to resecure.
2) While pushing down on one end of tent top (to snap canvas to bed support) my fingers pushed thru the seam. As a quick fix, I used white duct tape to keep out the rain but will need to fix permanently. Bought awning repair tape and will try that.
3) Plastic where door edges meet camper body broke off. I will try to glue back, but not a real issue and can use as is.
4) Read where someone lost lug nut. Next stop at walmart had them check nuts. Many were loose.
5) Black marks inside the camper canvas need to be removed. Suggestions?
6) Front of camper dirty with grease and road grime. Any suggestions for cleaning outside of camper?

People posted about silver polish taking off black marks. If you search the thread should come up.

That was an epic trip. Pictures?

Thanks, will try the silver polish. Not sure how to post pictures but will read up on the subject.

Sounds like a great trip. I have had the main Bimini supports come unscrewed on several occasions. I get in the habit of checking them now especially after any off-road adventures.

Good to know about unscrewing bimini bars. I was hoping it was a setup issue, but now I'll add it to my maintenance list. Thanks.

Our 6.0 bikini bars unscrewed too.  Check them occasionally. A good canvas repair tool to have is a speedi stitcher awl. Should be available on Amazon and of course the duct tape. Throw in some hose clamps too. Happy Trails.
