21RBS Can the slide out be adjusted?

We have had our 2014 21RBS for almost 2 years now and our recent trip (rain was involved) had some water inside. Now I already did seal the wheel wells (previous water) but looking closely this time I see that the slide out is not aligned.

When the slide is closed, the top is tight but the bottom is still ~1/2" out. Some measurements indicate that the bottom is about 1 tooth gear further out, so it does not close all the way.

This is the way we got it, and I wished I had noticed this while there was warranty still available as this is clearly a problem from the factory.

Now the unique question, is it possible to adjust this in some fashion. If so, how (and from this I will decided if this is something I can do, with help from friends).

Thanks all!

I think there are DIY instructions on-line, but I'd have to search YouTube a bit to find them. However, first make sure you have a problem. I thought my slide was off too and not sealing at the bottom. However, with a good light and laying on my back, I was able to see that the bottom is sealed properly up underneath the outer edge. There is no amount of "alignment" that will fix the outer bottom seal not hitting the side of the trailer, if yours is the same as mine. You could only do that by adding an extra rubber seal to the existing outer seal. Given the good seal I have up under the bottom edge of mine, I saw no reason to do that.

Found lots of information, and did the job by removing the out stops from the slide room, disconnecting the motors and running the room all the way out onto some supports. Used shims and re-aligned everything and pushed it back in. It was perfect, for the first few runs in/out. Then it skipped the gears again and was out.

I found out the upper gear/bearing block had a missing (they were broken) small plastic shoe that holds the bearing block to the gear rack (the long gear track). Because this shoe was missing, it was not holding the upper tracks properly. With the tension from the awning over top of the slide, (Pulling the slide in) it would skip pulling the slide in at the top more. That's why the problem, and I would have not known there was a problem until I took this all apart. Without this shoe, it will grind metal on metal and damage the bearing block and the gear rail.

Now, to fix this, you can't just get that $.25 part, you have to buy a whole repair kit, one for each side ($247.00) and I am going to have to get a repair place to do it as it all has to be aligned to tight tolerances. It's booked into my local place, and I will wait for the estimate.

Not even 2 years old, and a multi thousand dollar bill coming! Suffice to say, my rating on Livnlite has come down a notch (this should have been caught at the factory, as I am no slide expert).

So, people, if your slide is out further at the bottom, you too may have an issue with these parts, and you may want to inspect it closer.
