Hello all,
Just bought a never used 2015 8.0 from a private sale. I've been going through this forum taking notes on what to look for and additions I'll probably need for my first camping trip, probably a shakedown trip close to home before a 6 week trip out west that wife and I hope to make in May. I find this forum a great place for learning all things Quicksilver camping.

One tip for your trip out west. Less is better. Had to teach my family washing machines are located out west also. No need to pack a months worth of clothes.

Welcome and I am sure of two things 1 is that yuou will find more room than you expect and that yes they have washers out west and 2 you'll enjoy it.

Thx!Last Sept we tent camped while traveling out to NM and Az. We had actually loaded more than we needed. We're looking forward to the spaciousness of the camper and sleeping off the ground. This time we'll are heading to Utah, Nevada, and Northern Calif. See you on the road.

Thanks! When we traveled out west we drove through (and stayed in) Texas. Loved the state, especially San Antonio (River walk) and Austin (capitol building is magnificent). Got stopped by state police 2x (Changing lane in front of officer without signalling, and driving in passing lane) but they were friendly and just got warnings. Will definitely be back.

Glad to hear it! Our state troopers are some great people. We're hoping for an Austin trip this summer. San Antonio has some amazing parks all within a couple of hours of one another and is a favorite camping destination for us. The surrounding towns have a lot to offer as well. SA also has a nice KOA within about a 15 minute drive from the river walk.

[/quote]Welcome, I also purchased a 2015 QS but a 6.0 this winter. First thing I needed was a memory foam, it made a huge comfort difference. I also am taking a six week trip out West in May. From Arizona to California, up the coast to Olympic NP and then home via southern Utah and Rocky Mountain NP. Maybe will see you on the road. I have learned quite a bit from reading the forum.
