I'd go with some of those 1/2 inch closed cell foam exercise pads. They are inexpensive and come in 2x2 squares with interlocking edges to keep them together. I'll bet that would warm up the beds considerably.

I knew that the bed pads in my new QS10 would not be thick enough for my comfort, I bought a 3" thick thermorest and sleep as well as my home bed.  Kind of pricey but I have other backpacking thermorest mattresses that are 30 years old and still work fine.
