Water Pump Does not Work

We just purchased a 2016 LivnLite 8.1 Pop Up.

I am unable to get the water pump to work when using the filled water tank.
I have the hoses attached properly and securely.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Thank You

The hand pump in these are often difficult at best. I found the check valve in mine didnt work half of the time so it never primed correctly. I also didnt like the weak plastic handle; which actually worked out b/c it ended up breaking off for me.

I replaced it with a more standard pop-up 2 way pump which I believe I posted details on here in another thread. Long story short, the little 7 gallon tank and hand pump combo really isnt that practical for most things anyways. If you want/need the hand pump to work and it currently isnt the only real options you have would be to pull it apart and see if its just a bad value, bring it to a deal for service, or replace the whole unit.
If you are in warranty let LL know and they should be able to square you away with a dealer to do the work.

@christianm should be able to help with the customer service side of things if you need help.

Hi There!

Thanks for the heads up @admin!

gr, I have contacted you privately to get some more info and see if we can help you from a warranty aspect :-)

I have not tried to use the faucet as a pump yet, but when connected to a water source I have issues. There seems to be no off position. With the handle all the way up, the faucet will slow to a stop, then leak water out every 3 seconds or so, almost as if it was being manually pumped. I have the pressure regulated down to 40PSI. I have to go outside and turn the water off to stop the leaking. The other hose that would be hooked to the water tank also leaks all over the floor when city water is connected. Is this normal? It is definitely not convenient! I have tried plugging the unused hose and all the symptoms continue. Is this just a poorly designed faucet?
The drain is so slow its almost unusable. I have to put my hand over the drain and "plunge" it to get it to drain water, it is not plugged, just S L O W. Maybe adding some sort of vent would help.

@sonjar9 In my experience many combination faucets are difficult at times. The internal check valves tend to get stuck for different reasons. I had one that leaked like you described on one trip, then when I was home testing it I had no problems.

Personally I dont like the factory faucet on the QS pop ups, but thats mainly because I feel like its a poor design for pumping. It has worked, but I ended up replacing it with one of these http://www.amazon.com/Leisure-Components-131-5-Hand-Pump/dp/B000BGJX88

I like the metal handle since it feels sturdier. It also feel better for pumping since you are pushing down to pump rather than rotating but thats just me.

Ideally your faucet should not be leaking out of either of the hoses but if I recall the directions do say that the inactive line might need to be capped. In any case you shouldn't have leaks out of the faucet itself so if you are under warranty I would say its worth looking at.

The sink should not be slow either. In mine its essentially a direct hose from the bottom of the sink directly to the underside of the camper. Are you then hooking up a drain hose to direct the water or just letting it drip to the ground? Maybe you have a kink in the line, or its going up hill some how? More detail would be helpful here.

Sean, oddly enough, I hooked up the water without a pressure regulator and the faucet seems to operate properly. There is a very definite off with the handle about half way up. I put the regulator on because at full pressure the water hits the bottom of the sink and sprays all over. One problem solved, another emerges I guess....

I can only assume the added water pressure is forcing the check valve closed and in turn stopping the leak. Interesting...
