My wife and I rented a QS 10.0 last summer for an Eight day trip up to the Sierras. I'd been looking at the Livin Lites previous to that for a couple years. We enjoyed the trip, and the simplicity of the Quicksilver. I'm tall and fit in it, which is of prime concern. The very fast setup, easy to tow aspects are attractive.. Not too many complicated systems to worry about, I like that.  Perfect for us as we'll probably take it out 3-4 per year, and most of those might be 1-3 daycations!

So, for the past year I searched for used ones within 6 hours or so drive from S. Ca. A couple came and went. Now that camping world has the Coleman branded QS, this past Saturday I picked one up. We leave next monday for our trip to the same RV resort for a week. So, I had only enough time to pick it up and drop it off in our drive way... I am not good at backing it up, that's for sure. We'll set it up and get it ready this week.

So, hello to you all. I already have some questions and i'm sure more will happen..

Fire away on those questions. If someone doesn't know (or have a good guess about) the answer here, it's not worth knowing.  ;) Happy camping!

For backing I was new at it and still am, but this video helped me at least get the logic behind it  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RLtfrBWzNCw

great video! thanks.

A number of my questions have been answered just by searching all the posts. We learned a lot last year on our 8 day trip and i'm sure we will learn a lot more.

Right now the 10.0 is brand new but we'd like to do a few things:
-The dinette seat back cushions flop all around and fall down..perhaps some velcro?
-something on the aluminum floor for sure
-A slightly bigger tongue jack wheel would be nice for rolling over gravel or "offloading" it into the space
-we learned that the mattresses are nearly useless. I would gladly pay extra for LL to come with something purpose built for the QS..oh well
-the tonneau cover billows up significantly behind my F-150
-the AC cord just sitting out like that seems awkward. Maybe it could be built into the space under the bed
-We were annoyed at the plumbing connections last year, these look the same
-our water on the rental tasted really foul, so hopefully the new unit has water good enough to brush your teeth in the sink
-is there some kind of anti-seize you can put on the snaps?
-our rental got pretty hot in the daytime and the AC didn't quite keep up. hoping the new unit does a bit better..perhaps one of those Gizmo covers might help "nap time" !
-since there are only two of us. I wonder if anyone has used the opposite side bed for a privy with a Thetford or similar? the privacy curtains could shield and maybe just put a rubber mat down

From owning one a little while I have some answers.

-The dinette seat back cushions flop all around and fall down..perhaps some velcro?
Ours is a 2006 and has velcro, but its not where is should be-they put on the ends. I will probably add some
-something on the aluminum floor for sure
I've seen a lot of people use the kids foam puzzle flooring
-A slightly bigger tongue jack wheel would be nice for rolling over gravel or "offloading" it into the space
-we learned that the mattresses are nearly useless. I would gladly pay extra for LL to come with something purpose built for the QS..oh well
The 2006 mattresses are even worse than the new ones. We bought a 2.5 memory foam topper at Big Lots. When travelling we roll it up and lay it along the skinny side compartment parallel to the dinette
-the tonneau cover billows up significantly behind my F-150
Its even worse when you brake a snap. The best tool for replacing snaps i've seen is this one http://www.amazon.com/Ironwood-Pacific-008-4-Snap-Setter/dp/B002V0AXMC/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1434560468&sr=8-2&keywords=snap+repair+tool
-the AC cord just sitting out like that seems awkward. Maybe it could be built into the space under the bed
-We were annoyed at the plumbing connections last year, these look the same
-our water on the rental tasted really foul, so hopefully the new unit has water good enough to brush your teeth in the sink
I've never used the sink before. We just use a Coleman water jug
-is there some kind of anti-seize you can put on the snaps?
Not sure. I may try some teflon bike chain lube
-our rental got pretty hot in the daytime and the AC didn't quite keep up. hoping the new unit does a bit better..perhaps one of those Gizmo covers might help "nap time" !
Do you have the fan lights? I saw some on Etrailer quite a bit less than the ones sold by Livin Lite-http://www.etrailer.com/Trailer-Lights/Optronics/RVFL51.html
