We were camping down in Galveston for the past four days and had a great time.

Yesterday, I woke up to find the fresh water tank overflowing out the fresh water fill input.  I turn off the city water and just used the on board water pump.   I contacted Don at Livinlite and spoke with him for awhile.

Evidently, there is some sort of valve that prevents backflow to the fresh water tank while on city water in the pump that went bad.  The pump also turned on every five minutes or so with no faucets open or leaking.

Don is sending me out a new pump as it is real easy to install and it saves me the hassle of bringing it in to the dealer.  I am under warranty however I am still amazed at Livinlite's great customer service.  A happy camper I am! :)

You had the city water hooked up and it somehow was causing the fresh water tank to overflow?

If the city check valve fails your pump will shoot water out of the side of your trailer through the city inlet. If the pump check valve fails then the city water will fill up your tank.

Hi James,

Yes I am.  I am using the brass one that has a large gauge and I screw it on to the city water fill port (hose threads).  I have it set to 45 lbs or so.  I also run an external dual filter between the regulator and water hookup.

I know that I am filtering all the water that I use but it is a temp set up until I do an under the sink install for the cold water faucet.  When I do that, I will still have a single sediment filter on the water hookup to keep the junk out of my rv lines.

Just to give you something to try.. the one way valve in the water pump is a pretty simple flapper, it can get stuck, or folded. many an owner has fixed this issue by disconnecting from the city water supply, turning on a tap, letting the pressure drop, then cycling the water pump a couple times, this will reset/realign the valve rubber. And if it works, which it should, you have a spare pump.. and didn't have to spend an hour on your knees replacing it.. :)
