wow 110$ a year! Me in Canada for my Camplite 13QBB I pay 875$ CAD per year and previously I had a 2009 Palomino tent trailer and it was around 300$ CAD per year

I believe insurance is required for every trailer in the US. If I recall, adding the trailer to my insurance added maybe $90 per year. I think I could even get it lower but I insured its contents as well so its not a total loss if it gets broken into.

Insurance is not required for trailers in Michigan. That may be a state-specific requirement in some states, but it's not US federal. In Michigan we have permanent trailer registration too; just pay once when you buy and you're good to go with that license plate as long as you own the trailer.

In Canada, well at least in my province it is not required but I prefer to have it

in my province you have to pay per year for the plates and also get a yearly safety inspection

In the US at least liability insurance is provided free with the tow vehicle. Say your trailer breaks loose and hits another car. That will be covered by your TV's insurance.

Collision (damage to the trailer in a crash) and comprehensive (theft, wind, flood, hail damage, etc) are specific coverages that you have to buy for your trailer. You can buy collision without comprehensive but I think that more $ claims result from the latter for trailers.
