Anyone get an extended warranty on your LivinLite product? If so, where and how much (if I might ask)?

I did with my dealer was a bit over 2000$ I think something like 2200 or 2400 in Canada and it is for 7 year I think it's through tri-care

We were offered two warranties: a "free" warranty for life if you bring in the trailer to them for (paid) regular maintenance, and a ~$2000 standalone warranty.

We turned down both because I do my own maintenance and I don't see the value in the standalone policy. Here's how I see it: they always make money (in aggregate) on warranties, so unless a device failure would be a hardship for you then you're better off just paying for it yourself. The only devices I'd be worried about are the A/C and the fridge and even those I'm not particularly worried about.

Are you the type of person that buys warranties on your computer/printer? If so then go for it. If not, then this is the same thing but on a larger scale.

Thanks, just curious what's available. I know a lot of full timers get them.

My dealer has a One-Plus-One. Factory one year, dealer one year. They did not press for an extended warranty.

That's a good dealer, IMO.

As I'm sure as been noted elsewhere, there's more to service contracts than cost, length of time, and list of covered stuff. Where work can be done and under what circumstances could be really important to payment/reimbursement. When we looked at what our dealer pushed and what was available through Good Sam Club, differences in requirements for how and where to obtain service in order to be reimbursed were obvious. When we looked at those, plus skimmed the Internet for other options, we went with "none of the above". And really, it was largely due to restrictions that could make it really inconvenient to have something fixed under the plans. If we ever pursue this again, we will find someone who has actually used a service contract and not just purchased one.

Good point sandroad. We have friends full timing and they have used their extended warranties several times on some hefty repairs. They seem to get things fixed, but pay a deductible, and deal with a fair amount of crap in the process. Like tinkertechie, I tend to fix stuff myself, but that's not always practical 2000 miles from my workshop..

The warranty I got I can get my camplite fixed anywhere in Canada and US, the only reason I took it is because I want to keep my camper long term and it seemed a good warranty program and it was 7 years, but honestly I think I should have kept my money the trailer seem really well built and don't really see what could go wrong, but oh well I have it now and I'll see in the future if it worth it or not. I am the kind of guy that always say no to warranty and this year I got one for the trailer and one for my Ford Escape lol, both 7 years

Lol, well you're well covered and that has to be a good feeling!

We decided to get the 7 year extended with $75-100 deductible. D&H RV highly recommended XtraRide Platinum Protective. Of course they make a little money selling coverage - but as well respected RV technicians, they said this company is easy to work with and pays claims fast. We plan to travel long distance and I won't have my workshop with me
