Current 510 Owner

I'm new to the forums, but have been a LL owner for the past few years now.  We have a black 510 Quicksliver that we use to travel the competition barbecue circuit.  It's served us well over the last few years, but now we have a couple kids and are looking to go slightly bigger.  We're not quite ready to pull the trigger just yet, but our unit could be for sale in the near future.

What do you do at the competitions?  My husband has always been interested in them and would someday like to get a green egg.  Two years ago while camping overnight at a KOA on our way to the Keys, we met someone that does judging. Very interesting to listen to some of his stories. And Welcome to the Forum!!

[quote source="/post/8490/thread" timestamp="1427405934" author="@livinthegoodlife"]What do you do at the competitions? [/quote]We enter the contests and cook!  Chicken, ribs, pork shoulder, and brisket are the standards, and then sometimes there's some additional ancillary categories.  There's a few different sanctioning bodies, but we compete on the Kansas City Barbeque Society's circuit (KCBS).  It's lots of fun, and a good way to visit small towns all over the country!
